We took delivery of the trainer two weeks ago today. We were originally concerned from reading reviews that NordicTrack service was substandard, but decided to purchase the trainer anyway. The delivery installation team from Sears were great. We felt that the motor might have had a bit of a hum that was too loud, so we called NordicTrack service. We did NOT wait long at all on line and they put us in touch with their technician who was nearby where we live. He was right on time and was more than helpful. Very knowledgeable and honest, and explained everything we asked. I highly recommend the product.

The machine was great for 3 weeks. Starting losing weight and getting in shape... loved it! Until it just quit in the middle of a workout. We have been waiting 4 weeks to get it repaired! It's great as long as it doesn't break down. Once it breaks down plan on being without it for a while. Make sure you get the extended warranty since it's apparently not well made. Requires special outlet adaptor that doesn't come with it.

We purchased this incline trainer due to its ability to incline to 40%. It has proven itself a worthy fitness trainer for me, my wife, and son. Everytime we use it we are dripping with sweat. We have not purchased iFit cards for it yet, but we do plan on getting them for it to increase the workout intensity! As others have stated the waterbottle holders are less than ideal. Overall, we think it was a good purchase!
Health consciousI thoroughly researched the three Nordic Track incline trainers as well as other incline treadmills, before purchasing. I decided to go with the X3 as it did not come with the ifit Live module, as I had read many bad reviews about the module not working and this preventing the incline trainer from being used. I have had no problems whatsoever with my X3, having bought it in March of this year.
I do agree with other reviewers that the heart rate monitor does not work, but I have a heart rate monitor watch, so no biggie there. The water bottle holders are at a slant, and I guess that is what other users haven't cared for, but I use them to hold my ipod or hand weights, etc. so they work for me. The X3 has the ifit Live SD card module, but honestly, the preprogrammed workouts are enough. Maybe one day I will try that option. Overall, I have had a positive experience with my incline trainer.
Health consciousPurchased the X3 a little over a month ago, after a long long bout of research. Though Nordictrack doesn't appear to have the best reputation for reliability, I know several people with their equipment who are still happy with their purchase. So far, ive used the incline trainer every day, for 30-90 minutes, over the past 32 days. I've used the preprogrammed settings and the iFit cards, both without issue. I enjoy the versatility of this machine over a standard treadmill. A few things I'd note: - i only stand at 5'3" tall and am petite. Running 6-7 mph is no problem for me, but I'm not sure someone standing much taller would be comfortable doing the same on the shorter belt length. - when altering the speed/incline in the preprogrammed workouts, the unit seems to adjust speed THEN incline. If you've been walking at 1MPH/40 deg incline, then it switches to 2.5MPH/20 degree, it can initially be a shock when the belt speeds up. The until will beep an alert before it alters. I recommended using the rails if you are not sure about your abilities to physically handle the abrupt adjustments. Unlike some reviewers, I don't find these adjustments unbearable or scary. I've never been thrown from the machine or seen my life pass before my eyes. Start SLOW, use the 150 cal for a while and SLOWLY build to higher levels. You will be jogging at 5mph in the 250cal setting. If you are EVER uncomfortable with any treadmill, remember, you can always straddle the belt on the side planks and press the "stop" button, - the cupholders do suck, but are easily remedied by either leveling the angle at the bottom with a piece of cardboard or wedging something behind your water bottle. Not a deal breaker, but with the angled holder, expect your bottle to fall if left unattended. - seems reviews are mixed, but I had a very VERY positive experience with Sears delivery and assembly. They were professional and had me up and running in about an hour. Lastly, most reviews will recommend the Nordictrack warranty plan. For a few hundred extra, you can schedule one annual maintenance visit, and Nordictrack is supposed to also tend to any unexpected issues. Even the salesman recommended this to me. So far, it's been great, but consider the cost of the plan if considering purchasing one of these trainers. Five stars, because the water bottle holders are THAT bad.
