Bought this treadmill three weeks ago, despite many of the negative reviews. The treadmill works great so far. The speakers are quite good. Not a state of the art sound system or anything but deliver pretty clear sound quality and are sufficiently loud. I find them pretty convenient and more comfortable than running with headphones on. The treadmill is smooth for walking and running. I had a Landice at my previous apartment but find the NordicTrack sturdy and the difference in quality between it and the Landice not that noticable. As for the reviews that say this is not a treadmill for "walkers," I primarily walk on the treadmill (4mph at varrying inclines) and find the 300 calorie burning program sufficient in variety for my needs. I tinker with the speed and incline a little, but for the price, it's not a terrible inconvenience. Assembly is fast and efficient and came included with delivery. The delivery guys knew exactly what they were doing and set it up within 15 minutes. The treadmill folds up easily. The only downside is when my boyfriend ran on the treadmill (225 pounds at more than 6mph) the treadmill would slide back. We solved this problem by purchasing a rubber mat with traction control on ****** for 40 bucks. The mat works great and the treadmill doesn't slide around anymore. We plug the treadmill into a surge protector and so far haven't experienced any of the electrical problems previous reviewers complained about. No shorts, treadmill doesn't turn off by itself, etc. Not louder than any other treadmills I've been on either (Landice or LifeFitness at the gym). Overall, very satisfied with this product. Has been great to us so far.

When I first brought this home my wife and I were very excited to use it. But the first time I tried it out it just accelerated out of control and none of the buttons worked. Called Nordic Track customer support and they couldn't figure out the problem so they shipped me a new console. Took two weeks to arrive, then when I took it out of the box the new piece was broken too! One of the bolt housings was completely snapped off and missing so I couldn't even assemble it.
Terrible experience, would not buy from them again.

Treadmill runs great when it is working. It has had a number of issues to keep it running. The first was an elctronic component on the controller card broke. Then the motor went out and you have to go throught ICON Health and Fitness Customer Service. Who try and trouble shoot it over the phone for you then work their way to getting a technician to come out to your house. I did pay for the technican to come out and it cost about $150., however even after he came out and said it was the motor the customer service did not want to send out a replacement motor. I finally had to tell them what good was it to have a tech who ICON referred to come out if you're not going to listen to him when he tells you what the problem was. Finally got the motor and the treadmill is running. Another issue which seems to come up every six months is a rubber isolator which seems to tear in half from the frame pounding on it. It cost around $25 to replace. I've had to replace it twice so far. The demo IFIT card that came with the treadmill did not work at all. My wife bought it for me on my birthday. I use it to run and walk on. Once you make it past these issues, it does what I want. It would be nice if ICON could design the isolator a little better.
I am new to treadmills and reaquainted to exercise after being out of shape for about 10 years. I have had this treadmill for almost 2 months now and have not had any issues. It is used once a day for about a half hour, 5 to 6 times a week and use it for speed walking and the occassional short run. There have not been any issues with this device. It was delivered and installed properly by Sears delivery.
The workout options are good, but I have not gone through all of these options. I do like the custom workout as I can pace myself depending on the day by alternating the workout regiment on the fly. I have not used the iFit add-on slots yet. The fan works as it should and the speakers are adequat. I have used speeds between 2.5 and 5 and inclines from 0 to 9, all without issue.
This has been a great treadmill to use for losing weight. In two months of use, there have not been any issues. I highly recommend.

practicalThis is the first treadmill I have ever owned, so I really don't have anything to compare it to. I know NordicTrack is a good brand and I am happy with this purchase.
I like the option to plug in my iPod, but I prefer to adjust the volume on the actual iPod rather than the treadmill console because I think the treadmill's volume control is too much -- one touch of the arrow up or down and the volume is significantly lowered or raised. I feel like I have more control of the volume using the iPod itself and can raise or lower it gradually or quickly.
The different workout options are nice, and you can even create your own (though I haven't done that yet). There are plenty of speed and incline options to vary your routine. It's very easy to use.
I've had the treadmill for over a month now. It's used regularly by 2 people and we have not had any problems.
