Nordic Track t5.5 is a great little treadmill
We were considering joining the gym near our house or buying a treadmill. Fortunately, we opted for the treadmill. We both agreed that the primary reason for joining the gym would be for cardio equipment. For the cost of 5 months of a family membership, we have a treadmill. It gets daily use and has held up well. The Ipod/mp3 input and the built in speakers are nice, we are able to watch Netflix on the Ipad and still get a good work out in. A built in fan would be nice. One touch speed and incline control is nice and the workout programs do a pretty good job. Easy assembly, was able to put it together by myself in about an hour (novice at putting fitness equipment together)
All in all it's a great treadmill and was purchased for a great price.

The hardest part about putting it together was the cord in steps 1 & 2 that feeds through the left leg wasn't long enough to just hang once it was time to put it in the handle to connect to the motheboard... I was hoping to plug my computer to the treadmill for the wifi & have access to google maps but that's not the case. You must purchase the wireless adapter for another $100 to use every feature and $20 on the surge protector. If you're not into Jullian Michaels then that too is another downside. I don't see where there is another trainer available to work out with. The cost of the ifit cards are a bit extreme starting at $30 and then goes up and since they come in different levels you will more than likely buy the other levels as well. It is also said that this treadmill can not be put in the garage or covered patio, not too many areas in the home are recommened for it.

pending what happens next
I'm glad I read reviews about keeping the packaging, it's all in a neat bundle in a corner waiting to see what happens today :( we assembled in in about 2 hours, didn't seem like it was a long time though. Again, like other reviews, read the directions and don't be in a rush and it will be easy. Found a broken piece and a bent L bracket during installation, finished installation and it's quiet when you walk on it, but there's a pop on one side when you run. Haven't had it 24 hrs yet and am looking for an exchange for an unbroken treadmill, same model.

As an avid outdoor runner, I was skeptical of treadmills in general, but this entry level gym model and price fit what we were looking for. We got it so my husband could quit his gym membership. The other reviews are correct about assembly. It took us 2 hours to complete. Just make sure you pull the cord as far as it will go through the left leg. We accomplished this by propping up the running platform and making sure it was feeding through the hole on the base. I already ran on it and besides my shoes being kind of loud (I got used to it) it is wonderful. We decided on this model as opposed to the comparable T5.7 because the control screen was easier to use.

So far I am very impressed with the treadmill. Yes a little complex in setting up, but not as bad as I had anticipated. So far it is perfect and I am really enjoying it. I have only had 3 days so far. I love the automatic incline when using the programs, and the ease of moving it around. I would recommend this.

Worth the investment!
It wasn't too hard to put this treadmill together. However, we could've spent less time putting it together had the directions been more concise. Other than that, this is a very good treadmill! We love the loud speaker system, the 20 workout plans, the ifit compatibility, and the durability of this machine! This machine gets used everyday and it's very convenient for us. We are very happy with our purchase!

Treadmill is Awesome
Just got the treadmill today. Love it. It was not the easiest to put together, trial and error, but we finally got it. Very heavy and it took 3 of us to put it together. I walked 30 minutes on it already. It has a little smell of rubber, but everything looks fine. The speaker is adjustable for the music, which goes pretty loud. I really think this was a great investment for me and my family!

Pretty decent, excellent for the money
I received this a few days ago. It took a few hours to set up. The instructions definitely could have been a little more clear, I know my husband had to stop and redo something a few times because he forgot where he was or was a little confused. (the instructions sort of blur together.) Anyhow, took a few runs on it so far. The belt runs pretty quiet. What is a little noisier is actually when your feet hit the treadmill and I am not a heel striker. Even when I tried barefoot my feet sounded noisy. Anyhow, it annoyed me, but when I put on headphones or low music it was enough to cover it up. Not a deal-breaker. Honestly. My kids slept through it and they are one wall away. Now I've gotten more used to it, it doesn't bother me at all. I think the features are nice, a good variety. The screen looks great. I think this is a great buy for the money. Tech guy said in sears it will only last three years but I think he was trying to manipulate us into buying the warranty. Not very cool.
