Hard to assemble but worth the effort. May 07, 2008
This rod hockey table is a great value for the price. I paid $199 for it (use to be $499), definitely worth the price I paid. It felt like an eternity to assemble. I would pay a professional to assemble it if you are not mechanically inclined. The instructions are in the wrong order of assembly at certain sections which made the assembly longer than it should have been (5 hours). Once it was assembled it is awesome. It would make a great center piece for any game room. The game play it self is awesome. Very smooth and nicely detailed. There are very little dead spots which makes game play nice. The auto score board sometimes malfunctions, but can be reset if you unplug it and plug it back in. I rarely use the scoreboard any how. Overall it is definitely worth the price, in comparison to most dome hockey tables that cost $1500-$2000. Great buy, I just hope the parts are available for reorder if anything is to give out.

For the money, this was an unbelievable bargain.I read reviews so I knew it would take a while to assemble and it did (5 hrs. but I took my time.)I had no problems putting together,the hardest part was tightening the corner pieces from underneath and pealing the paper off the plexiglass. Just take your time and it will be worth it.The game itself is tremendous,the table looks great and seems to be really built solid,and the price is a steal @$99.88.Highly recommended.

A friend and I bought this for another friend's wedding gift. We got it for a steal at $100. Considering that's equivalent to two tanks of gas nowadays, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. Assembly was time-consuming but not overly difficult. The thing a potential purchaser needs to understand is that this is a rod hockey game and you're building it from the ground up. There's not much that comes together in the box, so definitely allow 5-6 hours for complete assembly. The directions were a little vague and confusing at times (There were only 9 or 10 "steps" in the entire manual - each step having 6-10 subsections). We did have trouble with one of the goalies, but it was quickly remedied with a little (very little) massaging from the dremel tool on the slide slot as well as the goalie's base piece (which seemed to be expanding the width of the sliding base). One of the screws that secured a rod handle also snapped on us as we tried to tighten it (we used a screwdriver and an allen wrench for the entire assembly). Fortunately, that particular rod handle was a very tight fit that should stay put unless overly abused. All in all, though, this was a great buy and my friend and I had a good time putting it together and an even better time "testing it out"! Buy with confidence!
