I was initially worried when I saw how beat up the box was when I picked the table up, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the table was free from any dings or warping. This is a quality product and makes a great unique addition to a basement rec. room--and doesn't take up as much real estate as a pool table. You CANNOT find a better deal on a 9 ft. shuffleboard table anywhere. Just make sure you check the Sears website frequently because the price can fluctuate by $300 (I ended up getting a $150 price adjustment after buying the table for $349).

Considering this table is far less than comparable tables sold elsewhere it is quite good. I was expecting that the finish quality would be where this table would show the signs of its price tag, but the finish is very nice. It is completely made out of MDF board (including the "butcher block" playing surface) with laminate covering all. Products made from MDF are not always inferior and in this case desireable. The MDF "butcher block" playing surface is much less prone to cracking and warping than "real" wood (this is especially important in northern climates where humidity changes drastically with the seasons). My installation of this table is probably a bit different than most people. Due to space considerations in my rec room, I installed this product on a custom built hinged wall system so that when not in use, the table can be folded down and hangs on the wall. For this reason I cannot speak to the sturdiness of the legs of the table but they appear to be well capable of handling the weight of the table. The table is quite large (approx 10' x 2') so double check to make sure you have the room before purchasing.
