    great elliptical retails 1300.00cnd December 04, 2006

    bought my cx938 elliptical 2 years ago i have never had any promlems whats so every with this machine i love how smooth and quite it is, and it gives a great work out, really love the 10 automatic resistace levels at a touch of a button, the assemly was easy if you have half a brain and know how to read any body can assemby this machine. as for changing the batteries you have to be very stupid when chaging them to srew it up and if you cant see when trying to put in the batteries then have a fash light. i know at least 15 freinds and family who have bought this machine and love it and thats all from word of mouth. here is the problem the thousand of happy consumers who own this cx938 elliptical never take the time to give it a reveiw only the small % of costmers or in this review 2 people out of 100s of thousands of other people who have allready bought have complained about it, try it your self and you will be very happy love my machine carolin we now have a few more family members who just saw mine and tryed it are also now going to buy. good luck in shopping

    Broke and really expensive to fix November 17, 2006

    Bought a Nordic Track machine like this one about 1 year ago. Worked great up until I had to replace the batteries. The batteries are not easy to get in (you put them in the console and you can't see what you are doing) Put the batteries in back ward so I took them out to turn around and trying to get the batteries out I must have hit a sensor of some sort. I called nordic track to find out info on getting it fixed. They have no one to fix it. I have to replace the console at 250.00. Would not by this brand again. I would also make sure before buying a new one. I would check to see how easy it is to replace the batteries if it calls for them.

    The Good: I purchased this elliptical from Sears after trying it out on their sales floor. It feels good for my stride length (I'm 6'3" tall), and my 5'6" wife likes it as well. The display and features are easy to use, and if you keep it oiled and tightened it runs quietly. The Not-So-Good: This thing is a pain to put together. Have a professional do it to save you 2-3 hours of pain and suffering. It also requires regular upkeep to keep from loosening up and squeaking. Buy a can of WD-40 and once a week squirt a bit into the moving joints. Otherwise it will sound like a mouse choir is practicing while you workout. Hold onto the included allen wrenches so you can also weekly tighten up the dozen or so bolts, which will lengthen the life of your elliptical. Overall, I have to give this product 4 stars because it is responsible (on top of a lowfat diet) for my losing over 70lbs over 5 months of using it 4 times a week.

    I have had to contact the company about this product 3 times in a little over a year. They did ship parts to us so we could fix it ourselves, but it is extremely had to work on and something else always goes wrong. This machine is not worth the money and I will not buy a nordic track again.
