Happy With Purchase
I purchased this mixer at one of those doorbusters on black Friday. Yes, it only comes with the flat beater and you do have to purchase the whip and dough hook but I knew that prior to purchase. Also, besides the $40 automatic in store rebate there is an additional $40 mail in rebate that was on the receipt. If you apply for this rebate, it then pays for the additional attachments. I knew nothing about the KitchenAid and didn't realize one was a head-tilt versus a bowl lift. It appears that the bowl lift is being phased out so it maybe a bit hard to get some of the attachments in the future if they are specific to one or the other. I have used my mixer already and overall, I am very happy.

Beware of "doorbuster sales" on this item. At $159 after the $40 rebate the price may seem good but it only comes with one flat beater. You'll spend an additional $25-$50 on the wire whip at dough hook for this model.

This KitchenAid stand mixer is everything you could ask for.
I love baking and this mixer has everything I need to do just that. I've got a rim guard with a slot on the side to scoop in ingredients, which makes adding things like flour a little at a time very easy since both hands are free. There's a lot of power behind it, too, which makes thicker doughs, etc, easy to mix. The attachments are easy to change out and the mixing bowl is easily removed and replaced. Its style alone says "I get serious in the kitchen." It's the kind of appliance that will last through the years. I know, since my mother has had hers for years! Clean up is easy as wiping it down. There's nothing bad I could say about it!
I would recommend this product to a friend.
