Excellent product for price!
I have been using this coffeemaker for several years now and it is very reliable and I have not experienced any major issues with the clock or anything else. I'm an avid coffee drinker and usually buy expensive coffee beans so I need a good coffee maker and this one is very good.
I make about 6-8 cups a day (that's 6oz per cup) but usually just 4 cups in the morning. What I like the most is the ability to have hot coffee even if you are making 4 cups or less because of the 1-4 cup button/feature where the water is double-heated to ensure hot water is piped through. I had a Krups before and it didn't have that feature which was so vexing because I ended up drinking tepid coffee everytime I made 4 cups or less.
Other features I like is the built in water filter, the timer, the self cleaning option and the hot plate. I will never buy a thermal coffeemaker again because the coffee never stays hot in a thermos unless you like tepid coffee and not steaming hot coffee (trust me been there done it).
This is not an issue but I do agree that I cannot tell how much water is in the coffemaker because the water level is not apparent from the outside, you have to open the lid to see the water level or use the coffeepot to fill the water and then pour it into the coffeemaker, which is bad design. However, what counts is that it does make great tasting coffee and I'm very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone who do not mind the minor inconvenience.

Bought 2' both have quit!
These coffee makers do not last. One started leaking from the bottom of the maker. The other one just stopped brewing at all. It will turn on, but does nothing. It's been cleaned and checked out. Who knows what could be wrong!! I won't buy any more Cuisinart appliances.

This is the second one in less than 3 months. The on-off switch seems to be a weak point. The first one lasted 2 weeks. The 2nd one about 2 months. I should have gone with a $40 model. I would have been money ahead.

This product does not last. I loved this coffee maker at first, but now it has stopped working. A coffee pot for this price should last more than a couple years. Very disappointing.

Great coffeemaker
The #1 reason I bought this is because Cuisinart has a 3-year warranty, and Cuisinart truly stands behind it. I have relatives who have had this machine replaced once or twice. The machine makes great coffee, a stronger brew than others we have tried, which is what we like. The only downfall is it is difficult to see the quantity of water in the reservoir - I wish it had an external transparent window for that purpose.
I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't buy
Bought the grind and brew and the grinder would not shut off so bought this one without grinder. First pot I brewed it leaked all around the base from the resivour. Going back the Mr Coffee products. Have had not luck with this brand and you can really save money. You pay for a name on these not quality.
