I bought the Sonicare Essence 5300 for my sister as a Christmas present, since she has everything else. She loves this electric toothbrush and would never use a manual toothbrush again. Like others have stated, it feels like your teeth were cleaned at the dentist's office. The brush heads are a bit expensive...about $25 for a two pack. I was concerned the brush head size was too small and they aren't shaped like the Oral-B, which are round. However, none of these were an issue and it's just as great of a toothbrush as the Oral-B and maybe even better.

Pros: My teeth feel so clean, like I've had my teeth cleaned professionally! The battery indicator is also very nice. The battery lasted 8 years on my prior older type Sonicare toothbrush.
Cons: The newer models use a gummy rubber cover over the on/off button, and mine wore out/broke off and fell inside before the end of 3 years on both of them. (I got the 2 pack at ******.)
Customer care tells me there are no replacement parts to fix this.
Although I found a reference on how to remove the case for when you remove the battery to dispose of the toothbrush. They mention this process is NOT reversible.
Batteries are still okay on my newer models, but with a gapping hole in the side (where the rubber cover fell in), I really can't use them now.
So, the newer ones cost a little less, clean just as good as the older ones, but last about one third as long before they are unusable and need to buy another.

I picked this up for myself on Black Friday on a whim when I saw the discounted price and am so glad I did! I will never go back to a manual toothbrush. This was my best investment in a long time. My teeth feel like I just had them cleaned at the dentist after each use of this toothbrush. I love that the brushing action is powerful, but not uncomfortable or painful. The automatic 2 minute indicator is also a great attribute so you know you are brushing "long enough". I would definitely recommend this product.
This brush has done wonders, I was at the Dentist for scaling and before I got this brush it took amost an hour and a half. After a few weeks I had the other side of my mouth done and it nly took about 20 minutes. What a wonder this brush has been on me and my family.
I'm pretty pleased with Sonicare's Essence 5300 Electric Toothbrush. My teeth feel cleaner and my gums are not as irritated after switching from a regular toothbrush to Sonicare.
