All the features I needed at a reasonable price. June 20, 2007
My last Black & Decker iron finally bit the dust. It lasted along time, so no regrets. So I began my search for a new iron that had the features I wanted: steam, burst of steam, spray, automatic shut-off and visible water level. I couldn't find one for a reasonable price: $40 for an iron, I don't think so. Call me Mr. Cheapo, but it's only a iron. After much searching I finally came upon it, The QuickPress Steam Iron fit the bill. And it does a great job. It automatically generates the right amount of steam based on the fabric you select. It has an anti-drip system too. The automatic shut off works, when your an occasional idiot like me, who forgets to turn the iron off. My only complaint is that it does not have an on/off button that lights like my old one, but that's a minor irritation. Other than that it works great.

I agree with Conscious Buyer. I bought this iron early last year (2010) and the iron got way too hot. And, as with other reviewers, the water splashes out of the top of the iron and water leaks from the back of the iron. And, the iron also stuck to one of my shirts and I couldn't get the residue off of the sole plate. So, I thought I'd give Black and Decker another try and I bought the same type of iron (model F975) without the non stick coating. And, this iron didn't get as hot as I thought it should (the other iron got too hot and this iron didn't get hot enough) and water also splashed out of the top and it leaked. But, it ironed my clothes so I just went with it. Well, I bought it on 07/24/10 and it stopped working yesterday 01/13/11 so I'm done with Black and Decker.

HeavyI used my daughters Quick press to iron linens for Thanksgiving Table. Iron spits and sputtered . Iron is heavy when full of water. Iron did a nice job but iI like irons that are less heavy.

priceThis iron does its job and lasts a very long time. I have used one for over five years. I would definately reccommend this iron to anyone. Black and Decker is a great product at a great price. A drawback is that the metal part does collect build up easily.

I works better than I thought, specially the steam function that I use all the time being that I'm not a good ironer. With this iron I get my clothes looking decent with very little effort.
