I do TONS of baking and was frustrated at the limitations of my old Kitchenaid stand mixer. It was way past its prime and time to move on. I did my research and wanted a machine that was large capacity and didn't have to strain while doing double and triple batches....this machine is the perfect fit!! The 7 qt. capacity alows me to make triple the amount of buttercream icing in a flash,,,and the variable speeds from FOLD to 12 is incredible! The fold feature itself is a cake maker's dream and the timer is an extra plus! The pop-up head of the machine takes a little getting used to but is a great bonus because it allows you to utilize the entire bowl capacity and really get under the beater and stir or disengage the bowl. The bowl fits securely and is good quality stainless. The cons of this machine are minimal...it is a little loud, but the speed and power of this mixer more than make up for the slight noise. Also, it is important to stop and stir your batter with this mixer, a couple of times a batch and the bowl full of double or triple batches is VERY heavy. The high quality stainless steel of the bowl is responsible for this, so I'm not really sure it is truly a con :) Just a heads up for those of us whose muscles are waning from age!
I have not utilized this machine's capacity to use attachments, so I can not speak to that subject. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the choice I made....Wedding cakes are much easier to make when you have the RIGHT equipment!
