An excellent addition to the workbench system March 15, 2011
After purchasing a 6' butcher block workbench and pegboard back splash, I realized that there was a huge area under the bench that could be used effectively for tool storage. I read some of the reviews and was a bit put off by some comments on difficulty of install and quality of construction. I'd like to address both issues. I found the module quite easy to install on my already assembled (and in service) workbench. The center leg slid in easily, bolted in place with a socket wrench and extension, as did the front support bar. The drawer glides need to be separated and then mounted individually to the bench and newly installed center leg with self tapping screws. The screw holes are already there, and the installation instructions give you the proper hole count for each drawer. Other than the difficulty of crawling under the bench to install, they went in easily. The glides quickly mounted to the drawers with 2 screws. The unit squared itself up and was operational after the drawers were inserted into the mounted glides.
One negative. The center leg is made from the same high gauge steel as the bench, but the drawers are not. They are a thinner gauge and do bend easily, I guess they could be damaged during shipping. Mine came with a couple of just slightly bent drawer sides, but it's not affecting their use or performance.. Once installed they are sturdy enough for their purpose. They don't flex, and to quiet them down I simply cut sections from a yoga mat to fit.
The list price is a bit high, so shop the sales. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I'd definitely buy another one at the right price to fill the rest of the under bench space.

Overall, good deal for the money, but the sidewall construction of the drawers is a little flimsy. My package was roughed up quite a bit and some drawers were bent a little. It was easy enough to bend them back into shape, and everything works fine now, but that does attest to the overall strength of this unit. Looks great, integrates with the rest of the set great, but not Sears' top quality product. But - you know that when you buy it.

Very thin drawer metalThe two drawer sets that I purchased (store pickup) were packaged very well, with the parts showing no damage whatsoever - lots of styrofoam, soft foam sheeting, and wood pieces were used to protect the components - they worked as intended. Assembly was a breeze, although time consuming - no complaints and no parts shortage - actually there were too many fasteners as some were left over. Well-integrated design. I modified the installation and location of the long, lower rear support rail by drilling additional mounting holes in it to match the pre-existing holes in the framework - basically flipping it over and placing it lower so that the lip mounts under the end panels - the rear of my unit is exposed and visible (vs. against a wall), so this looks better, and actually is a stronger installation. Added drawer liners and just finished building my own 1-1/2" black laminated and custom aluminum edged top. Wished that back panels were available to cover up the drawer openings - may make my own, since the rear is visible with my 'floating' installation.

Drawers, somewhat thinner gauge steel. But functional and roomy ! They accept Craftsman Bottom Chest drawer foam liners.
Drawer Slides, smooth and true.
Assembly:
Very well laid out directions.
Less than 1 hour assembly time.
Very happy I bought this 5 drawer module for my NEW Craftsman workbench.
Caught it on sale $149.99 + extra 20% off. Paid $128.39 after taxes. Keep an eye out for it on sale and it is WELL worth the $.

Pros:
Good ConstructionThis module is great, but here are some things you will want to know. The drawers are the same dimension as regular tool boxes, so the foam cutouts fit in there perfectly. If you get this with the workbench, do not tighten the bolts on the workbench. I got the full set up and had to put in and take out the same bolts over and over. If you got the complete setup, don't put the drawers in until your finished with the whole thing. The bottom drawer is tall enough to hold a circular saw. This is a really good addition to the workbench. You won't be disappointed with the quality.
