Use them right
Most people on here seem to think the batteries aren't lasting long. I'm at 4 years with my 19.2 gear and the batteries are doing well. I use my gear professionally and have 4 Craftsman batteries that are 4 years old and only 1 is just now beginning to have short charge. I have another 2 that are 3 years old and still the same as new. I use them weekly and I estimate that all 6 of my 19.2 have over 800 hours on them.
Just don't over charge them. I have used all major tool brands and these batteries are about the same or even better than the others. The tools are better for the price. I wish they had an exchange program and a charger that shut off so one can leave them in he charger. Use them often, don't leave them without a charge, keep them cool and you'll get 700-1000 hours out of them.

This product stinks!!!!!!!!
I bought the drill and the two rechargeable batteries for my husband for Christmas of 2006. By September, 2007 both batteries stopped working. The local store said I could buy more batteries at 29.99 a piece if I wanted to use the drill, Hello!! I was told by a rep at the on-line 800 number that the batteries were warrantied for one year and to go to our local store to get them fixed or replaced and when I went to the local store they said "no...the batteries are only warranteied for 90 days!" Whatever. Sears Craftsman tools are not like they used to be and why should I have to buy 2 new ones? They weren't even a year old. I think the batteries should last more than being used 7 times...don't ya'll think? I think I should get 2 knew ones, if they want me to buy thier products, again!

we bought our tools about 9 years ago our batteries just went dead my husband has put skirting all around our trailer replaced every floor in our these tools have been used a lot replaced the front door put in two new bathtubs he could not have done all that work without his crafrman tools

Poor battereis
The drill works fine. The batteries fail within 3-6 months or less. I am a household user. The last battery I bought lasted 3 months. Sears needs to improve the battery life drastically. Instead of replacing the four batterias I have I opted to buy another brands tools.

I bought the 19.2 batteries to replace ones that were several years old and getting where they did not hold a charge. These batteries are the same as the originals and hold a charge like they should.

No long life of 19.2 volts
I am using 19.2 volt tools since 12 years. Craft tools quality is great. but the 19.2 volts batteries are expensive and Its works less then 12 months. I have many batteries and chargers .the charger which a bought last year it looks like little different . craftsman company have make some special discount program for 19.2 volt batteries existing customers when they are buying new batteries. take the old batteries and give some discount on new purchase.

Not what they used to be
I have had my Craftsman Drill for 8 years. The original batteries finally stopped taking a charge after 7. I bought these replacements and followed the charging instructions. These batteries do not hold a charge or last as long as the originals. After receiving a complete charge, they last about half the time of the originals. Leaving a freshly charged battery out of the drill for about 4 days, it was nearly dead when used requiring another recharge. It's a shame really... I expected more from Craftsman. Others that have the same set-up are reporting the same problem. I will switch to another manufaturer with a proven track record.
