This is great June 28, 2007
Never used -- or even heard of -- an impact driver before, but this one had an impact on me. I got it as an add-on in a package deal with a 19.2-volt drill driver, and it saved the day. I was taking a bench apart, and I couldn't press the big drill hard enough to keep it from slipping out of some very tight Phillips head screws. Turns out that's a what an impact driver does. It hammers in as it turns, and it was able to turn out those screws. That's all I've used it for, so I can't say anything about reliability and I didn't really check out any special features (Well, one cool feature is a quick-connect bit holder. They just snap in, no tools, no turning.).

not what I wanted July 29, 2007
I shopped arounfd to find a cordless screwdriver at a decent price. I settled for this mdel and purchased it online. That is my first mstake because I did not get a chance to lay my hands on it and see it in action. When used, I think of a cordless screwdriver for many small projects; this is designed for a larager project; ie too much power, torque, etc.. This is poorly suited for small projects. I had a lot of difficulties starting screws and unscrewing small screws. I had difficulties inserting smaller bits that I had with other kits but it was very easy to insert to handful of bits that came with the drill. Overall, I would say this is not what you want if you are looking fo a nice little powerscrewdriver for around the house work. It would be nicer as a mini drill or something tant starts at maximum rpm.

craftsman again cooked up a great tool for all ages young to old its easy to use and lite wieght for easy use. i would refer this out standing tool to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

I received mine as a gift over a year ago and couldn't be happier. Although I would prefer it to have variable speed, it has perforned flawlessly and has removed/installed things that I wouldn't have expected. This thing rocks!

Well, I got this on sale lately and I can say I could not be happier. For a lot of people who are complaining, I should say that this is not really a screwdriver, but rather an impact driver. It works in a similar way to the pneumatic ones, by pounding on the screw to either tighten it very well or take it out if its rusted or stuck inside.

This driver is great. It's extremely handy, particularly the drill feature. I was installing some bathroom fixtures, (towel bar, tissue holder, etc) and the drill feature works great. Don't have to get out the larger drills and the bits. This does everything (except screws, too strong). Haven't tried it for removing stuck screws yet but after reading the other reviews, I look forward to trying that out, too. And I'll bring it to my husband's attention regarding the other reviewer using it on his motorcycle. Just wish It had variable speed.
