I can't believe people expect a workbench tool to serve as a shop vac or leaf blower. This thing is designed to be a lightweight blower vac to clean work surfaces, keyboards and other small projects, for this it's great. If you need a leaf blower or shop vac this isn't it. if you want something smaller than a shop vac or leaf blower to clean a keyboard or vacuum dust off electronics or under your drill after small jobs this will work nicely.

Having purchased many Craftsman 19.2 volt tools I feel the necessity to comment on this one in particular. The basic design of combining a vac/blower is an exceptional idea but here is the problem. The motor is too small for this tool and clearly lacks the power output to perform a satisfactory job. In addition, why install a variable power switch on a tool that becomes void of function at the lower speed range. The manufacturer claims a whopping 100 mph output! It might blow out a candle and move "dry scattered leaves" in small quantities but that's about it. As far a a vac, the instruction booklet shows a picture of this unit sucking up leaves. How are the leaves supposed to make it past the internal screen in order to enter the vac bag without clogging. The lack of power makes the added hose assessories absolutely useless. Someone in the desogner department really needs to re-think this one and correct these issues quickly. I quess everyone is entitled to a putting out a lemon once in a while. However, at $39.99, consider saving your money.

Ya I bought this to replace a coleman inflator that took 4 d batts. This way I wouldn't have to buy batts. Works great for blowing up air matress, just cup your hand around nozzle. Great tool for sucking bugs out of the screen tent and the camp tent. If the fire has dwindled down overnight and you have coals, turn the adjustable power control down and amazing, you have fire,I mean right now. When you have to pack up, sucks the air out of the matress. Cleans up the tent nicely. Pretty handy.
a do-it-yourselferI bought this blower/vac even after reading all of the negative reviews. My primary use was to blow leaves off of the patio instead of getting out the gas blower or a broom and it has worked great for this task and I no longer track the leaves into the house. It has also proved useful in the garage for small cleanups around the workbench and surrounding floor area and around my pedestal grinder when I don't feel the need to get out the shop vacuum. This blower is not a shop vacuum replacement and will not replace your leaf blower/vacuum but for what is was designed for, a workshop blower/vacuum, I feel it has done what it was supposed to do so far. I may try it for blowing leaves out of the gutter later this fall if they are dry but I don't think the power would handle wet leaves or debris. If you are looking for a lightweight, portable, blower/vacuum for light duty work and already own some of the 19.2 volt tools, then I would recommend this for those times when a shop vacuum is too much or for light duty blowing outdoors.
Not so powerful, but will do the job for cleaning up your yard work like grass, dirt, and leaves, enough to blow it back in lawn or whatever. So as far as cleaning goes, it's very handy.
The vacuum is not so good and barely over powers gravity when it comes to items like bolts. Wood chips and things like that will usually just get stuck in the hose and not go into the bag. So I usually just vacuum the stuff, then aim it into a trash can and either turn it off or switch it to blow so everything falls out of the hose!
For very small things like saw dust or drywall, it vacuums fine. For bigger things, you can just use it as a grabber so you don't have to bend over!
It does kill the battery quickly (at least my NiCad's), maybe 5 minutes tops of full power, then it gets weaker.
Still, I think I would rather have this than a gas-powered leaf blower or even the other more powerful C3 blower attachment since it doesn't vacuum.
Mr. Fix itMy first one lasted one day when the variable speed switch failed. I returned it for a new unit and my broken one was immediatley put on the shelf for sale as as a returned product? The new unit functioned properly but is poorly designed and useless. You can't set it down and have it running; It's to big to use for vacuuming or blowing electornics - there's much smaller and better units avaliable for that; It can't suck up anything larger than 1/4 inch as there is a grid inside to prevent passage of anything this size or larger and even saw dust clogs the machine as it gets sucked up fast enough to clog these small openings. I thought I'd be smart and take out this grid, but even a cigarette butt now clogs the intake fan as its fin design clogs right up - and saw dust (standard shop pick-up need?) clogs the fan blade for which you have to unscrew a few pieces to get access to, and clean, the fins. Add to this the fact that it burns through battery charges and you pretty much have a worthless tool. If I'm lucky I may be able to get $5 for it at a yard sale.
