When I first started up this sander and tried it out with the sanding disks supplied, I was disappointed. Before I decided to throw it away, I decided to cut disks out of real sandpaper and used double sided foam tape to hold the disk to the sander. I was very impressed then. Now I don't have to worry about finding the disks and paying too much for them. Also, you can find hook and loop disks that aren't too expensive if you don't like using the tape. I doubt it will last very long, but I could be wrong. It does not sound or feel like the typical Craftsman product, but at this price, worth it. If you are going to use it for light hobby work, should be good to go, just be gentle with it.

Sander was a new item years ago and I think Black and Decker made it or one similar to it. It was 9 bucks around the holidays so I bought one. With shipping it was about 17. No one has the disks for it and it is hitting the trash unopened and unused.

See all reviews for this productAlthough it is a little on the light duty side, It work amazingly well on the details for a jewerly box! The feet tend to pop off and have started to damage there mounts( mainly from me trying to make it do things it was not designed for). overall it worked very well you just have to know its limitations and not push them
This tool is not the most robust item on the market, but it fills a niche and I use it when other tools don't fill the bill. It is flexible for round items, getting into spindles and situations where you are going to have a mix of surfaces to deal with. It is easy to use, ergonomic to hold and does a job that no other tool does as well. It's major shortcoming is the lack of robustness of the flexible attachment points where the sanding disk are attached. The disks can pop off too easily in my opinion. They pop back on, but it can be a nuisance and they do wear. But still, it fills a niche and I use it and recommend it.
I think that the floating heads is the greatest idea for my work on gourds. The biggest problem with the sander is the sanding disk heads fall off when sanding. It is very aggravating when you have to stop turn off the machine and replace the head before starting again.
