Very Useful Product! March 26, 2011
This auto hammer won't build a house but is very handy for those hard to reach spots. It is great to have around the house and I have a feeling we'll find a lot of uses for the hammer. We have used it to help install baseboards on the wall. It worked well in the tight spots where you just can't swing a hammer. The hammer isn't overly powerful and you do have to be careful when the hammer reaches the wall or the item you are nailing the nail into. I purchased it when it was on sale for $75.99 at my local Sears. That was the lowest price I saw it at and decided to purchase the hammer. I have been very happy with the purchase. I also have the Craftsman NEXTEC drill that uses the same battery. They interchange and make it easy to share the batteries. The hammer is light weight and great for what it is intended to do. A lot of the reviews I have seen on this product expect too much from this hammer. The jobs that they were hoping this could handle should be for a nail gun. This still won't completely replace a regular hammer. This hammer won't drive real long nails. I do think the hammer is a little too expensive. The price point for this item should be around $60 in my opinion. I still say go for it, you will be satisfied. This is a great tool for the man or woman that has almost every tool they need.

Just didn't work... January 17, 2011
I bought this for my dad for christmas. He is a carpenter by trade and is always wanting tools, which I know nothing about. I saw this on TV nearly a year ago and thought hey... that is something that my dad wouldn't have but might actually have some use for. However, when he took it out to his shop to test it out, it didn't drive one nail for him. It bent every nail he attempted. He came back in and said... "No hard feelings, but get your money back." So, that is exactly what I did. He did how ever really like the mini crow bar that came with it. It is a great idea in theory, but not in application.

Needs to come with 2 batteriesI have had the Hammerhead for 1.5 year and have used it on replacing a privacy fence and replacing a deck. Product has been used around the house on many occassions. Product is awesome. Have not hit my thumb in 2 years with a hammer. Price is now around the $50 dollar range.

I have no problems with the unit except it is a little loud but that is to be expected. I had it for only about a month so I give it a thumbs up for now. I hope I can find the same 12V battery in 3-4 years from now when I possible need another one.
