Why are you calling it a workbench?
I was looking for a butcher block top to finish my kitchen island/table and this inexpensive, high quality piece works great! I purchased 2 pieces ( @ $129.99 a piece) , so if you do your homework you can't find a better price for a 48"x72" butcher block counter top! A savings of at least $ 400.00!!!!

Poor quality, damages easily.
I've had this for four days, and it's already torn up. Have I been working hard? Slamming it? No. All I've done is rest a few tools on the top while organizing my pegboard. That alone has scratched the surface up. Additionally, I dropped a small wrench about 3 inches, and it cracked/caved in part of the wood. I suspect this is cheap particle board with a butcher block laminate.

Oooo... Sweet Product!
I'm very happy with my new table top that I picked up last week. It exceeded my expectations and is quite a bargain! Looked at hard maple and IKEA, then found this. Like someone else said, It's so nice I hate to use it as a workbench. I could always buy another and make an inside table. Now to attach it and find a good vise.

This is a nice top. It is very heavy and there is a top and bottom. It is wider than I thought it would be, about 3-4 inches overhang on each side of the workbench. Looks great.

This is far too beautiful to use as a work surface. I used it to make a good sewing surface for my wife by placing it on top of two wooden file cabinets. It is a classy setup that has gotten big compliments.
