Craftsman  3 Gallon Horizontal Air Compressor with Hose and Accessory Kit

I've been using this compressor for 5 years now and it's still going strong. Most companies make their small compressors oil free and pitch them as maintenance free. You DON'T want your compressor to be maintenance free. Oil free is not the way to go. This oil-lube compressor only takes a small amount of oil every year or two, and it's that oil that keeps it running great. I've used this for tires and small projects like finish nailing and such. It can handle many small tasks like that. If you need something to run more powerful air tools, get a larger tank, higher psi, bigger HP compressor. It's very portable (though heavy) and well made. My only complaint would be that it comes with a cheap plastic air hose that easily cracks. Just go buy yourself a 50 ft quality rubber air hose and you'll be set.

have had this unit about 2 years, very little use during the time i have owned it, some tire filling and light work with brad nailer unit was always turned off when not used, walked into my garage this morning to the smell of smoke, compressor was on fire, after putting fire out and looking at unit, it was turned off so i don't know what caused it to catch fire, should have never kicked on, not impressed at all with this

Used twice. Leaked oil. Compressor locked up, even though oil level was still good. JUNK. I'm getting ready to take it back, and it falls over in the back of my truck, cracking the plastic housing and the oil filler and knocks the air cleaner off. I'm sure they're not taking it back now, but I'll see. As for operation WHILE it was working; it hopped around everywhere on the floor putting scuffs all over the place, and of course leaving a small trail of oil everywhere it went.

Great sale 40% off. Compact, easy to carry . Fairly quiet. Pumps up quickly. Plastic hose is cheap. Buy better hose.

MY 3 gallon 1hp Craftsman Air Compressor seized up after approximately 1 hour of run time. the sight glass showed it to be full of oil. Upon the failure i removed the crankcase cover to reveal the piston connecting rod seized onto the essentric. The word Maylasia was riht there glaring at me when i openned the cover! I made the mistake of only using th eunit to air up the occasional tire so the warranty period lapsed while it was still practically new. I have ordered the piston kit from sears for $30-$40 and will hopefully get some use out of my investment. Based on the countless similar reviews I have read, I am no holding my breath in anticipation that the replacement kit will hold up. The connecting rod is cheap allow with no bearing. We'll see.

Great compressor. Mine was delivered fully charged with air and the oil reservoir was overfilled. I noticed it and drained the oil and refilled it to the proper level. It is a quiet compressor the recovers very fast. I am happy with the purchase for the price.

I have had this for about 8 years. It spends more time as a loaner to others. I have had to replace the switch and regulator controls. Overall good compressor. I use it for blowing out water supply lines and inflating tires.

Portable, but powerful for home use.

I got this to work on my Harley. Git it UPS, put it together added oil and turned it on. Worked great! Cool little unit...light weight so very portable.
