Craftsman 17438 Nextec 12-volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Multi-Tool April 25, 2011
I bought this tool for my husband as a gift. It was a fantastic gift. He informed me that he doesn't know what he had done without it. He gave me an example of how he used it. He was working at a house and had to work under an overhang. He needed to cut off nails on the bottom of the overhang because they were in his way for what he was working on. His materials kept hitting the nails. He was unable to reach the nails so he got out his handy Multi-Tool and was able to reach enough to cut off the nails. He highly recommends this tool and I highly recommend it as a gift for the man who is tough to buy for.

The Nextec multi-tool is not what it seems March 31, 2011
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He has had problems with it since he opened it. He no longer uses it. The blades don't cut well at all. The worst complaint is that the plastic clip broke and the battery won't stay in any longer. When you try to use it, the battery falls out. This was the one item that he wanted for Christmas and what a let down. He purchased another brand from a local hardware store and is much happier with his new item. He does not want to purchase any of the Nextec products.

Battery lifeI bought this tool because the blades for my Fein multitool were getting too expensive. After using the craftsman multitool, I was very pleased with the performance and the power of this tool. The blades for the craftsman work as well as the fein blades and are less expensive. It was very handy when I had to do some work in a very tight space in the attic.

convenient,Easy to use,VersatileWhen my husband suggested we look into buying one of these little gizmos, I humored his penchant for acquiring tools. It seemed frivolous, but it didn't cost much, so what the heck. As it turned out, we used it right away for a faucet replacement project, and that project would NOT have been possible without it. We opted for the cordless version, and did not regret the choice. This tool may end up being the most valuable tool in our home improvement kit.

convenient,Easy to use,Versatile,Saves timeI purchased the Craftsman Multi-Tool after exhuastively looking for the right tool. I found the Mult-Tool the only tool that would allow me to get into the tight areas around my Truck engine. I had to take off my oil pan and it was sealed up tight with a combination of the silicone and gasget. No other tool was able to cut through the silicone as effeciently as the Multi-Tool. i tried a number of different cutting tools and none of those tools were able to cut through the silicone. The quick release lever on the top of the Muli-Tool allowed me to move the cutting heads around with such ease that it not only allowed me to get around in tight areas but it saved a lot of time. After the oil pan was removed from the engine the Craftsman Multi-Tool allowed me to clean off the silicone and gasget material from the pan with ease. The Multi-Tool is the perfect tool for a multitude of professional and home projects.
