    Great router October 16, 2010

    So far this router is pretty nice. I only had it about a month. So unsure how it will hold up long term. I will be useing this for occasional use. I would not expect this to run great on daily use. Its just not made for that. Overall it is a very nice router I'm happy with it. Digital read out is really nice takes the guess work.

    unsafe zero depth setting July 23, 2009

    The Craftsman 2-hp digital router is fine for the price and the digital readout very convenient. The system for setting zero depth of cut, however, is poorly designed and can be dangerous. The two hex nuts that you adjust to determine the stop flange's height do not stay fixed, they rotate up and down the threaded post during operation. This is regardless of how much you've tightened them against each other—they simply move together. They generally rotate down, so that after you are finished cutting and you release the plunge lock lever, the cutter does not retract completely to a safe position. If you were to set the router down before it stops spinning, the cutter will dig into the surface you are setting it on and would likely toss the machine violently. This design needs to be rethought.

    Also, as another reviewer mentioned, smoked plastic for the dust shield and dust control adapter make it too hard to see the work.

    I have enjoyed my CRAFTSMAN router. Lots of power! Works ok with craftsman bits that get dull very fast! WORKS GREAT with HIGH QUALITY BITS!!! **** BUY A ROUTER TABLE TOO!!!!! THANKS CRAFTSMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pros:
    repeatable debth set

    Bought this 2 or 3 years ago and have routed all the trim and cabinets in my house and did the same in 3 other friends houses and it hasn't skipped a beat. This router you can set and forget if you using the same stock for repetition. Great for all woods, I have even routed foam board and it does very well with that also.............
