It's light and extremely easy to set up for cutting at either 45 or 90 degrees. I've had mine for 10 years and the blade still cuts very well. I also have a larger biscuit jointer as well, but to tell you the truth, I prefer using this one, as the end result is a lot more accurate and requires a lot less sanding then it does when using the larger biscuits. Biscuit jointing is a real breeze with this little guy. I'm totally satisfied.

This detail biscuit jointer does a decent job. It's really nice to be able to use biscuits to join smaller stock. It can be a little difficult to hold in position but with a little practice it's not a big deal. The real issue arises if and when you need to replace the blade. It's not carried in any Sears stores, and the only place I've been able to find it is through Sears partsdirect. By the time you pay shipping it'll end up costing you half the price of buying a whole new jointer.
a Craftsman Club MemberClearance price $15.93, can't go wrong with that, so, it came home with me. Thanks Sears, at these prices it's always a pleasure doing business with you.
As far as replacement blades are concerned, as a former tool, die and cutter grinder I'm sure they can be sharpened a few times before needing to be replaced.
Having used the larger jointers I found this 3.5 Amp Jointer to be a blessing. Very easy to use with little set up. I now find myself using this jointer more ofen than the larger one for small to medium jobs. I recommend this jointer to any wood worker reguardless of experience.
I build small boxes and display cases. This little beauty does the job perfectly. It cuts accurately and quickly. I would recommend practicing on scrap to get the feel for it but after that its a piece of cake. One potential problem though... the biscuits were not at my local Sears store and were shown as a "closeout" item . I hope this doesn't mean they discontinued.
