This C3 Paint Sprayer does the job November 23, 2010
I'm not a big fan of painting...I wanted to make things easier for myself. I purchased this C3 paint sprayer even though I had no clue how to use a paint sprayer. Primed the walls and ceiling all at once, saving at least 3 days worth of time. Easy to use but need to thin paint before use.

The worst tool I've ever used. Bought it to paint the ceiling in my basement. It leaked from every place it could have. Instructions said no thinning of paint necessary unless it was spitting. Had to thin the paint and it still spit on the ceiling making it necessary to roll the ceiling anyway. Batteries ran down fast. Only had two, would need at least four to not have to wait for a recharge. Very disappointed. Returned to store.

Need to thin.,Handle a little thick.,Paint runs down the front.Did it spit unthinned primer, yes. Did it spit thinned primer, yes. Did it drizzle paint out the tip and down the front of the bottle, yes. However, it also did what I expected it to do, throw a lot of paint up in a short amount of time.
Although I sprayed with the right hand and brushed the deposit with the left hand, I didn't have to spend countless hours on the roof painting and away from the family.
So, if you are looking to get the painting up with the least amount of time and are not objectional to following closely behind with a brush to smooth, than you will be happy with the purchase. But, if you expect to use the sprayer only and be happy with the results, you just wasted your hard earned money.

I was quite impressed with this sprayer. June 28, 2010

The previous owners of our house had repainted all of the shake shingle siding except for about 6 feet of the peaks on both ends because their ladder was not tall enough. I bought this sprayer because I did not want to mess around with cords or hoses while standing at the top of a 24' ladder. I already have five Craftsman C3 tools so I did not have to purchase the 19.2 batteries or charger. The spray pattern was excellent and coverage could not have been better. I only had two minor problems. When tilted upward too far there was some dripping, but I have had that happen with other sprayers. You can't fight and win against gravity. When I stopped painting for a few mintues, the sprayer lost its prime and it took about 45 seconds to begin spraying again. However, considering the convenience and great paint job, I would recommend this sprayer to anyone who is doing exterior painting.

Craftsman C3 Paint Sprayer great for what I need June 18, 2010

This paint sprayer is a life saver for painting/staining fences, decks, and outbuildings. Saved huge amounts of time and paint. Yes, it does blow through batteries, but any high drain tool does, and to me it's worth the trade off of not having to deal with a cord. Yes, do use a paint/stain conditioner for a better finish. No, I would not use if for indoor painting because it does not give a uniform finish.
In the end, the sprayer did not leak, clean up was relatively easy for this type of tool, and it made my life much easier this Memorial Day weekend. Much less time painting and more time grilling. If you have to paint outside, I would definitely recommend this tool.
