Great filter, LOUSY attachment mechanism
This is a great filter, HOWEVER, the easy on easy off attachment mechanism really sucks. It's just too easy for the filter to come off on it's own. Numerous times I've bumped or moved the wet/dry vac and didn't realize the filter had come off until I turned it on and had a cloud of dust blowing out of it. Now, every time I turn it on, I have to first check to make sure the filter is still attached. WHAT A PAIN! The old attachment mechanism was much more secure and reliable and I never had to open up the vac every time just to ensure that the filter was still attached.

Pros: Washable, reusable (many times), super filtering Cons: Initial cost (but pays for itself in lifespan) Wow! I was extremely skeptical about this filter's claims, but it was on sale and the Craftsman filters are marginal at best so I went for it. I can not explain how pleasantly surprised I was with this filter. So far, I've used it for 3 filter cycles in which the Craftsman filter would have had to have been replaced. It has already paid for itself! Secondly, its filtering ability is amazing. You know with the original filter, often finer particles get past and up into the motor, well, my motor still looks new. (Hint: put a little 100% silicone grease on the upper seal for best performance and ease of installation. It has a nice tight gasket.) Thirdly, to clean the filter, all you have to do is tap on it or shake the vacuum to get most of the dirt/dust off the filter. If its really dirty just give the filter a very gentle spray of water and it cleans off completely! Really, the dirt just drops off and the filter looks and performs like its brand new!!! Amazing! And it dries very quickly! Finally, it appears to be water resistant and does not deteriorate or tear when you vacuum something damp or wet. I really can't say enough about this! Even if it fails this next cycle I'm ahead of the game on cost. It is the only filter I am buying from now on!
