Great little welder for around the house and hobbies March 16, 2011
Great little welder. Instruction manual is well written and thus the unit was easy to setup. I was up and welding with flux core in less than 30 minutes. Setting up the solid core was a little longer. The hose clamp that comes with the unit is trash. Other than a trip to the hardware store to replace it, setup was simple. Good feed on the wire and enough control over the voltage and wire feed to handle most small to medium jobs. I use it for general welding and body work.

Its an alright welder all around for the price, if is sputters and does not feed right get an air hose and clean out the lining and make that the settings are set correct and you will have no problem, disreguard the negative comment, this welder is perfect for a small budget.

easy instructions,lightwieght,portableSanta purchased this welder for my son. My son is an auto mechanic by trade, and he loves this welder. I purchased it online from Sears.com and was completely satisfied with the price, the ease of use of the website and the promptness of delivery. The box remained intact during shipping and my son is already welding his current car project with it. I highly recommend this welder and Sears.com for purchasing tools.

Lincoln Electric Handy MIG Welder November 25, 2011

I bought this welder a couple of years ago from Sears. I love the welder for what I'm using it for. I could have spent at least $150.00 more for a MIG welder that welded metal thicker than a 1/8". However for what I'm doing which is restoring my 48 Chevy Truck my frame is about 1/8" and I do not need a more powerful welder especially for welding 16 gage patch panels. I love that fact that it runs off of 120 VAC and I don't need a 220 VAC outlet. I went with a Lincoln welder because it is a brand name and if I ever needs parts down the road I shouldn't have a problem. To be realistic this is welder does everything as advertised however you'll want to purchase two items. I recommend using the CO2/Argon gas feature with the 0.025 gage solid wire and not the 0.032 flux core wire. Flux makes a mess and it doesn't do a clean of a weld. If you use a gas bottle go purchase an adjustable regulator and gage set. The fixed regulator that comes with this welder can't be adjusted and it doesn't let you know when your bottle is about empty which is frustrating. Also go out and purchase a auto darkening welding mask. In summary you can't go wrong with this little welder if you use it for what it's designed for which welding metal up to an 1/8".
