Those critical of this tool misunderstand the relationship between cost and value. As a professional woodworker I find myself using this tool daily. It's light weight, ease of set-up, and functionality allow me to substitute it for my 12" Dewalt compound miter saw. It is a wonderful saw for doing trim work though recently I've even used it for construction framing. As with all my power tools, I'm gentle with it, cutting slowly rather than quickly. To those who have difficulty finding blades, I'd suggest they check out the Freud line of 7.25" blades. The extended warranty is inexpensive and I bought it since I was concerned by the relatively low wattage motor but Freud's thin kerf technology gives this little saw surprising power.

What's Good:
This is a very light weight miter saw that can cut 7" boards in one pass. The size is very convenient. Great for moving from room to room as you work on a project.
What's Bad:
Poor design. Because the platform is so small, you're more likely to need to clamp boards down to keep them from falling to the floor (if you're working on a portable table or saw horses that one catch it). But if you try to clamp the right side, the clamp actually blocks the saw! You can't bring the blade down or slide it or anything!
You're more likely to want to clamp the right side because if you hold the wood with your hand on the right side you won't be able to see the cut. Which is OK, but not the best way to do things.
Not Smooth: I can live with this. When you slide cut a wide board, it has a kind of herky-jerky feel instead of a smooth slide. I used a pro Hitachi 10" on the same project and it just gliiiiides through the wood even with a much used blade. It slides fine when not cutting so maybe it's the blade? I dunno.
Noisy: I can live with this too - but it runs at higher RPM than a 10". Totally makes sense. To generate the same saw tooth speed, it's going to have to spin at about 30% RPM faster.
STILL: It is SO much more convenient than lugging the 10" hitachi and it does the job. I'll figure out some workaround for the clamp problem (probably just use a regular clamp and a couple 2x4 pieces.)

For the small size projects that this was needed for, this is a good product. The only problem we have found is that the blade does not quite slide to the back side as far as the fence for a clean finish so filing or turning the project is needed. We just added shim to the fence. The laser seems acurate, the slide option is nice and keeps the footprint and weight down. Because it is so small, a steep bevel makes it tricky to get a clamp in there so using narrow quick clamps helps.
I bought it for a birthday gift, so I not sure how it works overall. First impression ' very nice' . If I could get a second one at the same priceand shipped to the same address , I would buy one for myself. Let me know Dawson greenville michigan
Good overall saw- works good for precision angle cuts on trim. I think it has cheap bearings on the slide rails- it feels slightly bumpy when you pull the carriage out. Pulling the carriage very slowly seems to help. Sometimes when making bevel cuts, (depending on the thickness of the workpiece) the blade guard doesn't get out of the way soon enough. You have to hold the guard open with your hand to prevent it from hitting the surface of the workpiece, which pushes on the saw carriage and causes it to cut crooked. This happens more as you increase the cut angle- it becomes an issue past about 30 degrees.
Great little saw for the weekend warrior or professional. It will accomodate the majority of wood that the hobbyist uses. I like the fact that I can switch blades between this unit and my circular saw as needed. My biggest complaint is that the clamp is not very effective. take the time to square up the saw correctly. It will make your projects turn out much better. The slide action is smooth as well.
