The Craftsman Professional Saw is quick and precise. March 30, 2011
I bought the Craftsman Professional Table Saw about 2 months ago. I have used it a few times and it cuts with precision and is quick and smooth. I haven't tried all the features yet but my guess is it will work just as described. I have the router that I can mount to it but I haven't tried it as of this time. The guard is a good function and the anti-kickbacks work great. I plan on using the saw a lot in the near future and will write another review once I've had the opportunity to use all the functions of the saw.
At this point I would recommend this saw because of all the great features that come with it and the fact that the cuts I've made have been easy, quick and very smooth. I look forward to using it often.

Terrible saw, died in 1 day, runaround from Sears December 17, 2010
I bought this saw 2 years ago. I am disabled and can't use it much but I thought that a "professional" quality saw from Craftsman would be a good idea for those times when I could use it. In all this time I have made 3 shadow boxes and cut 4 cedar 2x4's with it. In other words I haven't even used it for one days worth of work in all this time. Today I cut the cedar boards and by time the 4th one was halfway cut through the saw started smoking blue and the motor locked up. I have been trying to reach someone at Sears to see if they might honor a repair due to the lack of use and the fact that they called this saw "PROFESSIONAL GRADE". After several hours of frustrating calls, hold times and menus that don't include any option to talk to a real person about this I tried just calling sears after the online chat person blew me off too... I have to say that this saw (and another I bought 6 months ago that was supposed to also be professional grade) that I am very disappointed in Sears. This saw motor is cheap plastic and the fact that a cedar board killed it is distressing to say the least. How can they call these professional and get away with it? How can they give customers the run around like they are doing to me and stay in business? Anyway, had to vent and warn others about the let down. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a reliable saw. I wasted 500 dollars on this. Don't make the same mistake I did...

After setup, the saw is great, and my ryobi router fit the table mount, I love this table saw, and would recommend it to anyone.

good general purpose saw,Stores well,Much functionality in one package,Easy to move and set up,Very precise,Fun to use,Paid for it self quickly.This saw pushes the line when it says professional...I worked with saws for 35 years...so..kind of hard to compare with the saws I have used....but those saws weren't portable and cost between 1500 and 5000 dollars,not to mention the permanent space they need. For the avagerage home owner this is great. Sets up easy and fast, cuts great. I would suggest a few things. Get the proper rated extention cord as not to starve it for power. Sears sells roller stands for longer boards or plywood. I would also recommend. a 60 tooth blade found that takes some of the load off the motor. Use some lubricant on the table and moving tables. Not a perfect saw...but a perfect all in one saw. Great design. Great fence. Awesome for the price.

The overall design is perfect for a portable saw or tucking it away in a corner and yet is very stable and accurate. It folds and un-folds easily and sets up even easier and has a verry versital and accurate rip fence. The router table on this saw works great for ripping a board and routering the opposite edge all in the same pass making jobs quicker and eiser. The saw blade height and bevel adjustments are verry smooth, and all the drives unit and saw housing's all metal. I highly reccomend this saw.
