China made, but assembled in my shop Texas
It is... what it is, made in China although I was concerned about reading the reviews that it was foreign made, the assembly was easier than what they said, but you will need a long afternoon and not just one six pack, but two. Follow the directions about the alignments, are just go on line and search "tablesawalignment". Buy a good quality 60 or 80 tooth blade and you will be better off than using the one that comes with it. Oh did I mention that was 2 six packs for assembly?

Be careful of alignment issues
First off, let me clear up some misconceptions. This is NOT a JET, Grizzly, or Rikon saw rebranded. This is NOT a cabinet saw. Even though the motor is enclosed, the trunions are table mounted; not cabinet mounted. This is however, the same basic saw as the Ridgid R4512 with minor cosmetic differences. This saw has 2 fatal flaws that need to be taken into account before purchase, and need to me taken seriously: 1 - The blade is known to change alignment with height adjustment. This will cause your cuts to be off my as much as 1/16" of an inch for every 10" of wood you cut. You could have a difference of almost half an inch if you rip an 8 foot board. That is a very serious problem that will ruin your work. Not only that it creates a dangerous situation. If your rip fence and blade are not in alignment, it creates a dangerous kickback situation. It cannot be fixed, it cannot be adjusted out. Fortunately, there are examples of this saw (and the R4512) that do not have this issue. PLEASE test your alignment BEFORE you assemble this saw. Google "alignment issues, R4512" and you will find the procedure. It is simple and only requires you install the blade and have a metal ruler handy. If you saw fails this test, return it. It cannot be fixed. 2 - The fence rail is an issue. Because it is in two pieces, when you have the fence closer than 3" to the blade, the clamping force can change the geometry of the fence, causing misalignment. With that said, if you get this saw without the alignment issue, it is an excellent saw. If you are really careful clamping down the fence, you can avoid the geometry change. There are also many aftermarket fences that fit this saw. Again, there is not as much information out there on the craftsman version, but it is nearly identical to the Ridgid R4512. If you want to do additional research before getting this saw, consider all the reviews on the R4512 as well. In addition, the blade is a throw away. I wouldn't even bother cleaning the grease off and installing it. This is not uncommon and most blades that come with any saw are cheap. You are buying a saw that can provide professional results if properly set up for under 700$. That is a great bargain. Do youself a favor and get a good quality blade or two. If you decide to use the included blade, please do not judge the performance of the saw based on that. I have used it, I can confirm it is terrible. There is no doubt about it. I hope Sears and the others that sell this saw can clear up the manufacturing issues with the trunions. Craftsman has taken a beating lately, and this saw is a real gem and could restore the faith in the brand that our fathers and grandfathers once had. I cannot stress this enough - TEST your saw for the alignment issue. It is extremely common. It cannot be fixed, and it will ruin your work and possibly create a dangerous kickback situation.

Nice table saw in this price range.

Very pleased with the saw. My prior saw ($200) did not last long. The craftsman seems to be a great option for the average weekend warrior.

Craftsman 21833

After reading many reviews on this saw, and not being very happy with a few of my recent Craftsman purchases (9" band saw and circular saw), I was hesitant to buy this table saw. I was concerned mostly about the alignment issue that is pervasive in this model (including the Ridgid r4512). But, they must have corrected that, because mine is perfect throughout the height adjustment range. Assembly was really not that bad...although the box is really heavy. The saw works flawlessly...very quite, minimal vibration, accurate fence, mobile base, flat table. For the price, I don't believe there is a better table saw.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good saw for the money...

After a considerable research I decided on this saw for my hobby building projects. It's quite a bit more than what I'll be using it but I am glad I got it just recently and have not had much chance to use it as much. The only thing that I can share my experience with the saw was changing the saw blade and aligning the blade insert. Here is what I found: (1) Even with my average size hand, it was very difficult to remove the nut and a washer from the saw blade arbor because the small clearance between the arbor and the sheet metal cross panel (what ever structural function of that panel is?!). I am dumbfounded why this panel is so close to the arbor since there is at least 8"+ empty space between this and the outside shell-panel. (2) The blade insert is supposed to held down by a single (small round) magnet instead of the hold down screws but it's questionable how well this is going to work with so dust and other than perfectly flat metal inserts. Also my just installed zero insert (made of plastic) can be adjusted by height adjustment four screws, but can not be secured down to the table!! While I am new to woodworking, I am retired toolmaker with mech. engineering background and have been around machine tools design as well as application all my adult life, and am just puzzled if the above mentioned are just designer's oversight, or it's something else?! Btw, as you may have guessed it, English is my secondary language.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

No issues here...

It seems like the reviews for this saw are mostly good, but there are a few negatives that I'd like to address, and share my experience. As -everyone- has stated, yeah, the box is seriously heavy... but once you get it into your garage the hard part is over, and assembly can be completed by one person fairly easily. With a bit of struggling, my wife and I were able to unload it from the truck, but it would have been way easier with a third person. The other comment I see over and over is "this thing took me all day to assemble". I have no idea how this is possible. The instructions are very clear, all parts are nicely separated and properly labeled. Without help, I was able to put mine together in less than two hours, and then spent another 45 minutes squaring the blade to the miter slots, making adjustments to the rip fence, aligning the riving knife, etc. Honestly, if it takes you an entire day to assemble this saw, you probably shouldn't be operating power tools. Now, onto the known/possible issues and my .02 regarding them: 1). "Blade alignment Issue": I can't speak as to how common this problem is with the Craftsman 21833, however, I checked mine with a dial indicator following the methods described on the internet for the Ridgid R4512, and the problem is not present on my saw. It's definitely worth checking your saw to make sure your saw isn't affected by this issue. Lots of good information is available easily by searching Google/YouTube for "R4512 Blade Alignment". 2). "I can't cut through a 1/4" sheet of plywood without stalling out the blade". Ok, now this actually was an issue for me... I started out using a 50 tooth combination Freud blade and it was stalling out every few inches cutting 3/4" plywood. I stressed out about this for a bit, and then noticed there was no tension on the drive belt at all... in fact, it was slipping off the motor a bit. I put proper tension on the belt and now it runs great. The blade spins up to speed almost instantly and maintains power all the way through every cut I've made since (including hardwood). This is an easy adjustment to make, so if your saw seems under powered, I suggest you check this first. All in all I think this is a great saw... I got mine on sale for $450, which is a heck of a deal for what you get!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

10" Table Saw

This awesome saw will complete our home wood shop. I went in to Sears just to see a price comparison and went home with a saw; at a lower price, a more powerful motor and a bigger working surface.

Don't be scared Great saw

I almost didn't purchase this saw for all the the bad reviews. I am very happy that I did. The saw was straight forward to put together "doesn't take that long maybe an hour" the table was easily adjustable and having the correct tools laid out and ready helped as well. I am remodeling my house and wanted it to have perfect cuts and it does. So much adjustment on the table I really like it. The only reason I get it four stars is the steel sides should be made of cast iron and then you wouldn't find a better table for the price. Don't be afraid to buy I looked for the past 3 months and pulled the trigger and have been happy since I did.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
