- The dual locking fence can be easily be adjusted to be parallel to the miter slot and perpendicular to the table.
- The blade guard system with anti-kickback pawls is designed with a quick release mechanism for easy removal and replacement.
- Riving knife system used on this saw can be set at 3 different positions:1. Through cuts such as ripping or crosscutting (Riving knife positioned above the blade)2. Non-Through cuts with the standard 10 inch blade, such as rabbet joints (Riving knife positioned just below the top of the blade)3. Dado Cuts with 6 inch or 8 inch dado blades: where the riving knife is positioned below the table surface
- The blade tilts to the left from 0 to 45 degrees to permit cutting long bevel rips on wide boards with the finish work surface in the correct position.
- The blade is supported by a cast iron trunion system for accuracy and consistent cutting performance for the long term.
- The heavy-duty dual castor system can be easily set with the front and rear foot pedals.

Very happy with the saw. February 28, 2011
I don't have the space or funds to purchase a cabinet saw so I reviewed this type of saw for several weeks. I was leary after reading all the concerns about the assembly instructions. I found a great deal on it and bought it. I spent about 4 hours by myself putting it together and adjusting it with no issues. Change the blade right away. I am very happy with it's performance.

Blade adjustment August 17, 2010
This saw is unacceptable, apparently one needs to take the trunnions to machine shop for alignment. What is wrong with Sears these days? This is not the first table saw I have purchased, but it will be the last.
I spent 8 hours now trying and failing to get the trunnions aligned properly, I wish I could take it back, get a better model and start over.

cheap blade included,Horrible assembly instructions,alignment issuesI would not recommend this saw. The assembly is a little tricky and the boolet that it comes with isn't very helpfull. When I first opened mine the cast trunion was broken in 2 pieces. The company you call to replace the part is helpfull and have no problems getting you the parts you need sometimes you just have to wait for the part to be shipped from China. Alignment of the blade to the table top is pretty complicated there isn't much play. To get the most out of this saw look into a thin kerf blade.

I have had a small Craftsman table saw for the las 30 years. The issues I had were a rip fence that was not always locking straight and a miter that moved to much in the guide. It was ok for normal cutting but I wanted to do some projecgts that required better precision. So I decided it was time to upgrade. I first determied the features that were most important to me. I looked for a table saw with the following criteria:
1) Had to be well built, heavy duty
2) Had to have a heavy duty rip fence that did not move when positioned with a built in measuring tape
3) Had to have a miter without "slop" in the movement in the guide
4) Had to have a large table top surface do that I could cut large boards without having to hold the piece and try to guide it against the fence.
5) Had to have seperate height and angle adjustments
6) Had to be able to run a full DADO set
7) had to be precision equipment
8) Had to be reasonably priced
This saw is all that and more!
Now for the issue: After unpacking - a job in itself as the say is truely heavy duty with an emphasis on "heavy", I discovered that there was a rust stain on the table top corner. The box was not wet nor did it show signes of bweing wet but the styrafoam showed the stain. Must have happened during packing. But I called the store and after I explained that I had no intention of trying to repack and return it due to its weight, the manager arranged to ship me a new table top. That was awesome customer service.
I have used the say to make cust from 10 inches to 1/16 inch using the rip fence and the stock blade. The saw performs! And the built in casters for moving the saw when necessary work well. I would recommend this saw!
