Good Saw for the money
Ok so I am helping a friend put a bathroom in his basement. The floor is 12" ceramic tile and the walls are tiled up to 4'. The wall tiles are 6" x 6". I needed a saw because there were many cuts. We had rented one to do the the floor the one we rented was a commercial type saw. It worked ok but what a mess it made spuing water everywhere. I saw this one on line at Sears and figured what the heck for $79.00 I would take a chance. So off I went to Sears with a gift card I got for Christmas. Today I used it and I must disagree with others that say you have to keep refiling it with water. I cut 23 wall tiles before I had to add water and mind you it was not out of water I just wanted to top it off. Compared to the commercial saw we rented this did the same thing and no mess. The cost to rent the saw was $35.00 for 4 hours, so spending $79.00 and I own it is a much better deal. It has pleanty of power and wall tile cuts very nice with it. I also had to cut a couple of pieces of floor tile and that too went great. Others have commented about getting wet while using this saw, the only way that could happen is if they did not adjust the blade guard correctly. I did not get wet at all and there was no mess. As for the comments of the cheesy fence that I will agree with however I used it many many times today and mine did not break of course you still must be easy with it as it is made from plastic. The blade guard is black plastic someone said it should be clear not a bad idea until you cut your first piece then you would not be able to see through the clear plastic because of the water and dust that would collect from cutting tile. If you do handy work this is the perfect saw. It appears that it should hold up for a long time and should continue to work well even after hundreds of cuts. Lightweight, easy to use, easy to setup and it even has a handle so carrying it is great too. As for cleaning it up I just rinsed it off and rinsed the inside well in a big mop sink and wiped it down. $79.00 does not usally buy too much these days but I think this it worth the price makes the job go much faster as apposed to using a manual tile cutter. Hope this review has helped good luck and happy tiling!!!!!!!

cutting 13x13 tile
The table is too small to cut a 13x13 tile in half, but the end guide scales (the molded in numbers don't mean anything) are long enough to C-clamp a new fence onto them. I agree with the other postings that the plastic accessories are a bit on the weak side. The fence needs critical work in the way it snaps in place. I found that if you angle the blade guard forward that most of the water is left on the piece you are cutting. This directs the water away from the user but you cannot see where you are making the cut. The blade guard should be made from clear Lexan so you can see the cut, especially for notching a cutout. Clean-up is hard due to all of the pockets and corners. If you scrape most of the sludge away while it is wet and let the rest dry, you can blow the residue away with an air hose. Overall I was impressed with the cutting performance and 3/4 HP motor power. I sawed through several dozen 3/8" tiles without chipping or breaking any corners.

Acceptable saw for the price

Easy to use little saw for the price. But I can't give it more stars because of some key drawbacks. The guide wasn't useful for me because I was using it on 12 inch tiles. But I found it easy to control the tiles and keep the cuts straight. But what I found more problematic was that the safety shield isn't see through making it difficult to see where I was cutting. And the wing nut for the shield got in the way of the right panel making it difficult to open in order to add water or clean out the water compartment. You would think this design flaw would have been obvious to the manufacturer. Finally, the instructions say to fill with water to the line. I couldn't find a fill line so it either isn't there or its not obvious where it is.

Craftsman 7 in Wet Saw

Cut tile well. The blade guard did not fit in the slot well and on first use flew off the saw. As a result did not use the guard. For the occasional user this saw did the job for a reasonable price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Gets the Job Done

Bought on 1-14-2013. Paid 63.00. Rip fence takes time to get use to. Unit is not as heavy as others. Miter cuts okay. Can't believe the price increase to 93.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent tile saw

I used this saw to cut glass mosaic tile (1"x1.5") for my first time tiling a kitchen backsplash. The saw cut the glass like butter. An excellent product.

Craftsman 7 In. Wet Saw

I was really shock that Craftsman put their name on this power tool. During the initial unpacking and set up, I was impressed at the design but when it came to the actual functionally and use, that?s a different story. The table is designed so that you must slide the piece that you are cutting into the blade. The plastic fence and guide make this very difficult. The guide is very flimsy and there is no way to clamp the tile into the guide. As you attempt to slide the tile and guide, the guide sticks causing sporadic movement, it is not smooth at all which makes it impossible to obtain a straight even cut.

If your looking for a wet saw to do your own backsplash or larger project, this saw is not worth the time or money.

Don't bother with the crosscut guide

The fence on this saw is quirky.  It took me a long time to get the hang of it.  Once you do, you can set it fairly accurately using the splines on the fromt and back of the table.

But the crosscut guide is completely useless.  It runs along the fence and binds up while you are cutting.  There is no way to make a clean cut with it.  I had to push so hard to make it go that I wound up pusshing the fence off its guides (not hard to do at all, btw.)

Only buy this saw if you can make all straight cuts and don't need tha angle guide.

Overall
low quality,

I guess I wasted 90 bucks, bought this saw.  Where do I begin?  Attempted to buy this saw in store, the only one left when I bought it is the open box.  When home there is no rib fence. Attempted to use couple of weeks latter, which is ok.  However, the saw get hot and mud got stuck on the blade cover.    Then blade cover fell off at the second use. Mud flying all over your face and hair.  By then, it is too late to return the  **** thing.  The casing is made of plastic, which is ok to prevent rust.  Howeve, it is too thin that I set the saw down on side way (because the carry handle on the other side), the saw tipped, broke the plastic.  90 dollars, can't even finish my project, I needed a new saw (somewhere else).
