Not for cold weather operation!
I own a commercial service company, we had good luck with the predessor of this drill, so when it was time to replace, we selected this "upgraded" hammer drill/driver. In the showroom this drill compares well with other drills, Dewalt, Milwaukee and Makita. And to be truthful we were pleased with its performance during warm weather. But once the temps got cold, this Lithium battery shuts off and will not come back on if you require it to operate. To test we put on an old Nicad and the drill operated perfectly. So if you need a drill to operate when it is cold do not purchase this drill or any Hitachi product that uses this Lithium Battery. (I called the Hitachi who confirmed this). I am amazed a commercial tool supplier would sell this product.

The DV18DL is unrivaled by any other brand cordless drill. It has unmatched power for the toughest jobs. The DV18DL and all of the products in this 18v line are the best in the industry. It offers brute strength, cool looks, feels comfortable in your hands, has a built-in belt hook and light, the widest range of variable speeds,1/2"Jacobs chuck, and the 3.0 aH Li batteries last a very long time and fit all other products in this line. Hitachi cordless power tools are all I buy. I have never had trouble and have always been satisfied. The warranty is unbeatable if I ever do, so I don't have to worry. Do yourself a favor, buy Hitachi.
