    Great value socket set April 22, 2011

    I bought a set of these for my Dad's birthday a while back and recently purchased a set for myself. I like to buy Craftsman tools that are made in the USA, and am happy to pay the small price difference to support great USA quality workmanship. I really wish they were made in USA but still a great set for the price.

    Found out the Craftsman Socket Set was made in China December 14, 2010

    These made in China universal socket and wrench set (that I bought seperately) get their finishes scratched easily after first use which make them look cheap.  Would have returned them but I needed them and there are no other made in the USA tools anymore.  Will not buy Craftsman or recommend them until they are made in the USA again.

      Also Sears had a rebate offer where you spend a $100 worth on tools and you get a $10 instant rebate gift card.  The requirements said that divisions can be combined.  My total online and in store total purchase was worth over $100 but the Sears store would not honor it.

    I bought this set for work, the new desigin had me wondering if the sockets would hold up to the amount of tourqe needed to get the job done and i have to say i LOVE these tools. Very durable, have had no problems with slips, nice grip, stylish, and not to mention the lifetime warrenty gives you added piece of mind. I think everyone should upgrade to these universal sets. mechanic tested and approved.

    wanted a set to do the 12 point Harley bolts on my Dyna these are great and narrow to fit in perfectly to tight spaces- usual top quality craftsman quality and price- first set i've bought and now like craftsman tools! all my other tools are MAC -Mike

    We do not use anything but craftman tools in my house, they are well crafted and i have some from my grandfather so they have been around a long time and still are going strong. I like that if they brake for some reason that you can take it back and get a new one but that hardly ever happens because they are made so well.

    I got this product because there are a lot of rounded off bolts in the mechanic world. I was sorely disappointed the first time i used one of the sockets on a bolt that was barely rounded off and all it did was make things worse and ended up having to cut the bolt out with a torch. Definitely not worth it.
