I bought this because of the reviews however I must have gotten a bad one or they were using it for small stuff. I have broken 7 blades and every time I try to make a turn the stupid belt falls off. I am at the point to where I just want to throw this piece of **** in the lake!

Powertec's Band Saw is a hidden gem!
Powertec may be a new name to the market, but it's 9" Band Saw is a hidden gem! Light-weight and durable, this machine is great for the average homeowner. The blade is quick and easy to replace. I love the safety feature of the adjustable blade guard.
I would recommend this product to a friend.

I was really surprised about this band saw. For a unit so low-priced, it has lasted a whole lot longer than any of the other cheapie band saws. I have been cutting up to 1-1/2" thick hard woods like walnut and cherry but unlike the other 9' saws I bought from other stores, this one is still working, still going strong, after over two months of hard work. This band saw is just amazing! I have to say that I have kept the blade that came with the band saw and not tried putting a blade on it with finer teeth for cutting sharper curves; that's where so many other band saws go bad-- after the blade has been changed, so I can't say that this band saw is perfect in every way. But even just using the original blade shows that this is a very good, a very sturdy band saw that is a great buy for the price
I would recommend this product to a friend.
