Woodworking essential March 22, 2011
I would highly recommend this router for anyone that likes to add a little extra detail to their wood projects. Its size makes it easy to handle and easy to use. The power is great for the oak I use and it operates very smoothly. A router this handy and small makes it easy to forget the router table.

bosch colt router June 08, 2007
the first 2 times I used mine it operated great, the only problem I had was the thumb button to lock the arbor for bit removal slipped badly. the 3rd time I used it, one of the brush covers backed itself off and fell off, now the thumb button doesnt hold good enough to get the bit out, I had go grind down the thickness of an open end wrench to fit the slot in the arbor to get the bit out. It runs great, just don"t think the thing was engineered well at all.

Pros:
Excellent power,Moves easily across material,Is easier in tight places,Better for edge trimming,Can be controlled one handedOver the years I have come to own three routers for specific jobs. The largest most powerful router is used on formica countertops to cut out for sinks. The middle size is used for most molding design, cut-off of excess and general all around work. This Bosch 5.7 amp palm router is used for trimming formica, small craft projects and getting into small spots and works great.
Most routers are one speed only and the fact this one is variable speed makes it very unique. I have used the variable speed when making tight turns or when approaching finite points. On the other hand this Bosch has great power in the 5.7 amp; 1 HP motor to perform flawlessly as you dictate. The small footprint of the non-marring base and overall size means you can control this unit with one hand which is very handy and is something you should NEVER do with a full sized router.
Smaller body "palm routers" are somewhat specific in use (comparatively) but are a great advantage over bigger body designs when they can perform your task. For some odd reason they always leave you smiling when done ?? This is a great one !
