Awesome Saw
This thing is great! Rubber grips feel great - less hand fatigue after long day's work. Powerful 15 amp powerhouse plows through like butter. Ball-bearings ensure long life and quality cuts. Large lock handles easy to use. Large scale for depth settings - easy to read. Large stable aluminum plate. Bright white work light lights up chalk line at blade contact area. Bright red laser beam to see chalk line out front, with free pair of special tinted saftey glasses to brighten laser in bright sun light. Large sturdy case to store everything, and of course a small trac bar for ripping boards with. Nice thin kerf carbon blade also. Long heavy duty 10' cord - nice. You can't find anything close to all these features for this price range anywhere - I wish I had gotten it sooner.

I'd never buy another Craftsman Saw
Bought this saw about 2 years ago, used no more than 10 hours and the motor died. After talking to both Sears and Craftsman and learning the best thing I can do is to have it reapaired for $79.00...but why bother, how long would it work anyway. All done with Craftsman power tools, and will spread the word.

Professional 15 amp circular saw
This unit works great. I love the "NO SAFTY TRIGGER LOCK". Just pick it up and squeeze the trigger and your sawing. Laser light works as good as any of them. Naturally in bright sunlight you can't see it, but I never use it anyways. :) It is easy on the hands, and the blade lock is very conveinant to use making blade changes easy. The cord that comes with it is plenty long, and is nice and pliable, easy to keep out of the way and heavy duty to furnish all the power needed. I recommend this saw to all.

I'm a contractor and I think this is not a professional saw. First the good; the laser, the amps, and the work light are great. Now the ugly, the main issue is that the on-board tool holder for the blade change wrench is eliminated from this model. You can bet that the wrench will not be around when you need it. The levers are all plastic, so if you drop the saw they will break, steel levers usually bend and can be straitened out. Finally don't be fooled by the magnesium looking shoe, its some kind of finish and it rubbed off on my work and on my clamp I use as a guide. I wanted to love this saw, I'm a craftsman guy. But this saw was designed by committee. It's like they just started all over when they came up with this one instead of taking a saw that works great and making it better. Brian

This Circular Saw is very powerful
This circular saw is very powerful, and cuts smoother than any other Ive used. The only drawback is its fairly heavy. The special features include a light that stays on when in use, and a laser light that can be turned on and off. I dont see the point of a laser light on these as the laser only points to where you are aiming, its not a stationary line. It cant be substituted for a pencil line on whatever you are cutting. But, I didnt pay for the laser light, I paid for the quality of this circular saw. The craftsman professional line can stand up to any other brand out there.
