Craftsman Professional Sander gets the job done with eaze May 30, 2010
After reviewing many ROS I settled on this one and am very pleased with it.
I used it to refinish a set of stairs and landing in my porch. The sander worked perfectly with little effort. The dust collection system kept dust to a minimum. Not sure if this cyclonic system is better than the bag for I have nothing to compare it to.
There was very little vibration to the hand. The paper swaps on and off with little effort. This sander has come a long way from my old palm vibrating sander.
This was definatly worth the money. I like to work smarter than harder and this surely did the trick.

Had this sander for a couple of years and it just started acting up, speed kept going up and down and almost stopping at times. Took it apart and found the bottom bearing was completely shot. The bearing fell apart in my hands. Because of the vibration it stains the bearings and the bottom one takes the beating mostly. The bearing is easy to remove and replace. It's an alternator bearing, so I ordered one from and auto parts store. Should be here tomorrow.

Dust Collection,Ease of use.,PriceThis is the first random orbit sander I have used, but it has exceded my expectations. Both rapid removal with the 80 grit paper and the fine finish pf the 220 grit paper worked better than expected.
Nothaving used one before, I chose this sander based on price/amps. the unit seems to have plenty of power and is intuitive to use.
I'm very happy with this sander.

Dust Collection,Ease of use.,PriceI have used this sander for about 10 hours total in a 1 week period while removing the finish on a small wooden entertainment center. It took about the same amount of time as when I sanded by hand, because I stopped a lot to let the sander cool down until I feel more comfortable with its durability. It was hooked up to my shop-vac and completely sucked up all the dust and debris that usually floats in the air and into my lungs while sanding.
I also used the sander with its dust collection device that attaches and this also worked well, but it is recommended to clean it often to prevent any sparks developing inside. It comes with the 2 samples of sandpaper that attaches with velcro and then I bought a variety of grades for my projects.
The product still feels very durable with a comfortable weight.

I recieved this sander as a gift, I was in need of a new sander and when i tried this one for the first time I was impressed, it's allot quieter than my old one.
needless to say the old one was promptly thrown out !!
I'm quite sure this one will be around for some time to come.
