This Drill Shapener works great! March 08, 2010
I use this sharpener at work, home, shop, everywhere. It sharpens your bits with ease. Just read the directions and with a slight twist of the wrist, you'll have those drill bit in mint condition. My only fault with this machine is that it is pretty loud. But, what can you expect from such a device. I'll never have to buy another drill bit again.

What kind of stuff are you drilling? May 28, 2007
This is a good universal drill sharpener for soft stuff like wood and the occasional sheetmetal project. If you are looking into doing harder/tougher metals like stainless or steel, I would recommend either the 500 or the 750. Not only do they offer the greater versatility of a shallower point more suited to harder to drill metals, but they also offer the split point option available on the XP and up models that is required when using tougher bits than the 'regular' carbon steel ones such as the Cobalt steel type. It avoids having the bit wobble and making the hole where you don't want it and helps these bits cut a little bit easier and faster. I urge buyers to consider future interests and projects or you may find that you 'wasted' your money lacking necessary features and end up disappointed. Nothing worse than false economy.

The Drill Doctor drill sharpener was an excellent choice December 28, 2011

This purchase was off the top of my head, while trying to find a gift for my son. Little did I know how much he needed this. As I was giving it to him I told him he could swap it for something else that he needed if it was not appropriate. He immediately told me he was keeping it. With so many bits lying around and so many that had been discarded this Drill Doctor was the perfect solution. Would save on drill bit purchases and time. And he knew since it was purchased at Sears they would stand behind their product.

Excellent Productlil thing is easy to use correctly on one side of the coin, and on the other side just as easy to use wrong...
trick of the tool is just like using a SAW, any saw chain to scroll, let the tool do the work...
nice easy and steady light pressure as you turn the bit on the stone...
