Black & Decker  114 PC DRILL/DRIVE SET

I own B&D power tool that I use for any home repair. This is a great extension to that. This set comes in a box with maked spaces with size for each bit/tool. It has a manual driver which could be used with bits instead of the power tool. All in all, a great product and a great value from Sears!

I have really been looking for a set of drill bits that would stand up to the test of stress and real work, I have finally found them. these drill bits are great. i fell in love with them from the first time that i used them. they stood up to the abuse that i put them through and didn't break. they were just awesome.

The case they made for this must have been a defect. there is 55 bit that will fall out of there space when case is moved carried or flipped. Other then that is looks like a nice set but needs a new case that will work to hold bits in place.

Case is compact and sturdy -- the hinge runs almost the entire length. Case does not have a separate case carry handle. A single "clicking" snap lock. Case exterior Top and Bottom look almost identical. It will lead to some confusion. Sounds like a job for spray paint. Pieces snap in snugly enough that when case is shaken (with top closed) the pieces do not rattle, fall out. Nothing falls out when opened "upside down". When case is opened, and shaken, pieces do not fall out. On the flip side, some (many?) pieces are so snug you need pliers. Related, my thick fingers cannot "take just one" piece. Very cramped. Each piece is labeled - both on itself and on the case. There are many of the same pieces. For example there appear to be 8 #8-10 flat head screw driver bits. Two #6-8 flat head screw driver bits. There are many "one off" pieces - eg drill bits, nut drivers. Kit includes a "Yankee style" handle which I've not tried. Nut drivers are SAE only. No metric sizes. Nut drivers are 6 sided only. I've always bought my drill bits separately, never in a set like this. NOTE - this kit provides "a bunch" of drill bits, but no way to use the drill bits with the enclosed yankee handle. Hmmm. You need to acquire a separate adapter for the yankee handle / electric screw driver. Since I first started using the small power electric screwdrivers, I've used a similar kit. My old kit finally lost too many of its pieces. I saw this kit and bought it online, sight unseen. How much do yo need to think about some stuff ?? Free pickup at Sears store. Just as the small power electric screwdriver is part of my arsenal, this kit is for that tool. Together they are a supplement to my larger power and hand tools. If you have a small electric screwdriver, this kit is for that tool.

This is a good set for the beginner, or just to have around as a spare in the home.  You won't become a home contractor with these, but they are a good all-around set for home use.
