Craftsman 154 pc. Mechanics Tool Set March 30, 2011
This has almost all the tools I need for working on the car at home. No solid screwdrivers, but I had those already. There was also one socket size I needed that was not present, but I had an older smaller kit that had that size in it so everything worked out great. I also realize that this is not a full automotive kit and you would need a larger kit, but this has had almost all the tools I would need for working. I would definitely purchase this again. The price for this kit was excellent. I got it on sale for a great price. Did not like tools falling out if I wasn't paying attention and opened the wrong side, but that falls on me not watching.

I bought my 154pc. set last month and while assembling I noticed overall finish inside the sockets look like they would be susceptible to rust right off the bat. I remember just 10 years ago Craftsman tools seemed to be of better quality and feel. These tools nowadays just dont have that smooth fit and feel like they used. I guess you got to spend more for something else. Oh yea, I also had 2 unmarked pieces.

NONEExcellent quality, as are all of the other craftsman tools that I have collected over the years. Rachets are quick and well geared, and will NOT slip a bit. Like I said, craftsman is all I need to say, as that statement gets the point across. I have been a mechanic for over 50 years, and I still swear by Craftsman. The warranty is great too, but I have only returned one socket that I broke with a 4 foot pipe on the ratchet, and it was replaced without a question. Loota tools, lotta years, and only one breakage? Like I said .. Craftsman.

tools not assembled in caseCraftsman tools continue to set the standard and this set is a great value for the money. I found a bigger set (Kobalt) from Lowes at the same price on sale at Christmas time but the quality compared to Craftsman led me to choose the craftsman set - hands down. Thanks Sears! Hopefully Sears will continue to rework it's business plan to be more competative with the big 2 (Home Depot and Lowe's). I want Sears to be around for a long time to come.
