Great for the money February 11, 2009
I only ever buy craftsman... I used to have the Stanley Fat Max but, it finally broke. I liked the fat max because you could stretch it out 20' before it bent. Well it broke, and I am not buying another. Bought the Craftsman, and have not had a better tape. The vinyl coating on the tape prevents rust and the measurement is very accurate. Forever warranty means forever. Great product, great tool. Excellent value and price.

I love the warranty May 22, 2007
I work over the water building docks, and in a metal fabrication shop at times. My tapes have a tough life. I will only use Craftsman tapes. the replacement policy sold me. I have worn off the numbers on two, and the spring gave out on another (this has been over a period of two years), but they were replaced them no questions asked. These are not nice tapes. Other brands have better made tapes, I just cannot afford to be replacing them. PS. I coat all my tapes with WD 40 to prevent rust and help them rewind better. This works well, I had one fall in the lake and stay there for two weeks. When I finally retrieved the tape I was pleased to see that the spring and blade had not rusted. (most tape springs fail if left in the lake over night)

I always used Craftman tapes on my job, but in recent years, the quility of the tape s have went down. I have had about six tape that didn't live up to the quility I have been used to. I like them but they don't last like they used to.
