The hammer is well built and all steel, no breakage of handle is expected. The heft and balance is outstanding. the handle is wrapped with rugged nylon meant for good grip and avoid slippage when hitting hammering any object.

great hammer
This hammer was at a good price, especially since it works so well! The grip is perfect and hold off most of the vibration. What I like most is that with most hammers I would have to tap on the nail head a few times before it actualy goes through but with this one is once or twice, its the weight of it. Also the hook in the back is great to takethe nails off its easy to slide and thenail slips right off, no wiggling or fussing with both the hammer or nails !

You can't go wrong with an Estwing Hammer
Estwing is, in my opinion, the best hammer out there. I had a 16 oz and added this 20 oz to my collection. It makes driving 3-inch nails into treated logs a breeze.

Outstanding hammer with non breakable handle
I normally use a 16 oz hammer for most of my carpenter work but when working with 2by or framing type work I prefer the heavier 20 oz and this Estwing is a best choice. Estwing is known for ultra quality and it is evident in this curved claw hammer. The working surface of the hammer head is big and well finished. The curved claw will grab and remove nails better than most other hammers. The body of the handle is a solid one piece metal construction from the head, through the handle, and all the way to the end. This means you can crank down to lift stubborn nails without worry of the dreaded "crack" common to wooden handles. It also means this hammer is made to last a lifetime because there is no wood to deteriorate over time. Lastly the rubber handle cover is nicely contoured for grasping and blows are absorbed by the rubber before reaching your hand. Also most 20 oz hammers are longer and this Estwing will go in and out of your belt easier and be quicker on the draw. This is a top notch hammer which will perform for you flawlessly for a lifetime and is highly sought and used by tradesman day in and out. For these reasons I would recommend it to you highly.

Outstanding Hammer
This 20oz hammer is the heaviest I could find w/o the extra long framing handle. I love this hammer. The weight is balanced out exceptionally well. I gave around 30 bucks for it, but would do it again tomorrow. The one piece forged steel is a must. The hammer has been very durable, and I honestly see myself using it the rest of my life, and I'm only 26. The same hammer is offered in a leather wrapped handle, which looks pretty cool, but I opted for the typical (and cheaper) blue handle. This grip absorbs most of the vibrations. The claw is great at removing nails. It even bites into those pesky nails w/ no heads for easy removal.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
