Craftsman flare nut crow foot wrenches. September 28, 2011
These tools got me out of a jam. I didn't know they existed until visiting the Vienna Sears store to get a broken flare nut wrench replaced. When I got home, I used one of the crowfoot wrenches which allowed me to loosen a very tight brake line connection which was in an awkward location.
The crow foots are thick which allows good contact with a flare nut.

Overpriced but chrome is nice. March 21, 2011
So I bought these online, got a smokin deal, paid $56 each for the SAE and metric sets. Received Chinese product. Luckily my stores had USA made stock on the shelf so I exchanged it, but the new product is no longer US made even at the insistance of the online help. For $15 you can buy a Chinese lifetime guaranteed flare nut set, why spend $80 for one? Way overpriced. If I ever have to warranty it, it will be with a Chinese product, so I might actually return them as that is why I paid the extra for the Craftsman name. I paid extra for US and warranty, but will get Chinese in return? Bogus.

Pros:
Nice chromeFor starts, these used to be made in the USA in mid 2010. Now they are made in China. I purchased a metric set in 2010 made in the USA. I recently ordered the SAE set online and got China tools. You can still get the older USA ones in stores for as long as that stock remains, but online you will get China made. Every manufacturer claims that it is made to the same specifications and quality, but here is the scoop on these. I took my online ordered chinese ones to the store and exchanged for an old stock USA set. If you compare them side by side, here are the major differences. The USA set has fully radiused corners, where the chinese set is more squared off. The USA set is tapered down significantly on the smaller sizes for more tool clearance, whereas the Chinese set has no tapering and could limit accessibility. The USA set had no forging marks prior to chroming, but the chinese set had a few cosmetic dings that got chromed over. So in my opinion the USA set is cosmetically and functionally better. As for strength, only time will tell. Everybody is switching to Chinese stuff with a lifetime warranty, which makes you older USA stuff more of a relic. Makes the warranty pretty useless in my opinion, but I buy USA stuff because I figure it is better made and I shouldn't need the warranty. Same with ***** - if you have older 6point sockets and go in for a replacement, they can only offer you 12point replacements. They will give you a money back so that you can go to Sears and buy a USA made 6 point socket, but who knows how long those will be made in the USA. My 2 cents is don't buy Sears products made in China. Teach these CEOs that the reason you pay a bit more is for the USA made tools, not to save a few bucks on Chinese products.
