Torque Wrench May 23, 2007
Very easy to use and accurate. I am a little concerned about the markings wearing off with use but I'm not that concerned because I know Sears will stand behind this tool just like everything else I have ever bought from them. Great tool for the price.

Disappointed May 04, 2008
Bought the tool to tighten bolts on a carbon fiber bike frame. Practiced on some test bolts first, and do not trust the accuracy. No where on the tool is there any indication it was ever calibrated. Locking collar after 3 uses spins freely when in the locked position. Instructions require a very strong magnifying glass to read. Overall a cheap tool.

Plastic Lock CollarThis is a very nice torque wrench for its price. It comes with a free storage case and includes a owners manual. The ratchet mechanism works very smoothly. Plus it's Made In The USA! The only drawback is the plastic locking collar. But, should it ever break, parts are available through Sears Parts Direct for very reasonable prices (Replacement plastic handle w/lock collar is only $7.99). Keep in mind though, that Craftsman Precision tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, dial calipers etc., only have a one year limited warranty, and are NOT covered by the Forever Warranty the rest of the hand tools have. They never have been and probably never will be. I mention this only because apparently alot of people don't seem to know this, and then they complain and run Sears down for it. I would recommend this tool to anyone; just be gentle with it and you should have no problems.

I purchased one of these about a year ago and have used it quite often in my home repair shop. It has served my needs quite well and I continue to find new uses for it. The Craftsman lifetime warranty is comforting as well. Since I restore antique farm tractors as a hobby, I do have some large bolts to install, like head bolts, etc. Even with this 'rough' work, I know that if I do ever break this wrench, Craftsman will stand behind it and offer me a replacement. The wrench is holding up well, however, and I loosen it after every use, so that will extend its useful life, too. The case is a nice touch, which also keeps the tool safe while it is in storage.
