Easy to handle & operate without slipping out of your hand.
Problem with nearly all other brands is that they are so slippery they fall out of your hands often.
The durability also exceeds even the highest priced brands.
American made and Craftsman has been around as long as I can remember.
No worries with warranty ;don't need to hunt down a tool truck to exchange it if you do find a way to break one.
You can break any ratchet made through misuses , but you can easily exchange a Craftsman!!

Sloppy Weak ratchets! August 24, 2011
Well this is craftsman lowest line of ratchets and they are junk I used these ratchets for a couple years before upgrading and now have quite the selection, and these low end ratchets are junk. PERIOD! I dont care what the other reviews say these people dont have experience with REAL ratchets, These things are Weak, I have broke several of these and the 3/8" model, just go to the store, in the tool dept registers when you go to exchange this ratchet for warrenty the drawer is full of them? Why because this item is brought in many times a day! They are also sloppy The teeth are not tight, the angle to ratchet is like 20-30 degrees, you cant use the ratchet mechanism sufficiently in less than a 45 degree area...
Now the thin profile line, are much nicer, they are the same as the Gearwrench 60 tooth ratchets all made by danaher, I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on these but I think they are ok, the ratcheting degree is a lot smaller than these, but still not quite as small as a 60 tooth should be.
Now I recommend Going online and buying a used proto, sk, or snap-on ratchet just to experience a quality ratchet, now that i have my snap-on f80 I will never go back, I still have my craftsman ratchets cause they are good for certain jobs and the warrenty exchange is excellent, I still want to try there new PRO line that just came out a year ago or so....
The only people I would recommend these to are anyone who uses there tools very seldomly, otherwise if you really want to go craftsman upgrade to the midlevel (thin profile) or top level premium ratchets!
Go to garagejournal and talk to people if you dont believe me most of the people there are professionals and know what there talking about and can recommend you good made in USA ratchets at very close to these prices!
