Actron CPOBD II AutoScanner Plus - Diagnostics for the DIY!
I use to perform most of my own auto basic repairs & maintenance (brakes-alternators-starters-tune ups, etc.). Although we purchase good pre-owned cars, these past 15 years or so has been frustrating...**** Computers!!! A code would pop up on our autos here or there and I had no choice but to take it to a shop or dealer. The mechanic would diagnose the problem using their scanner ($50-$75 up charge) and usually I'd find out after the bill was paid for scanning, parts & labor and all was said and done, I Could have Fixed That! I finally had enough and purchased this wonderful Actron OBDII Autoscanner Plus for a fraction of what One Auto repair (that I could have fixed), would cost me! Between a 92' Astro, a 98' Malibu, an 05' Impala and an 05' CTS, performing my own diagnostic scans has saved me easily 4X the cost of this unit. After tracing a few codes, I have brought auto problems into the dealer anyway for "expert" troubleshooting\repairs. However, I've been able to tackle several sensor, adjustment setting problems with the DTC's feedback I got from my scanner. This unit is simple to use, has a ton of features and functions and is built to last a long time. With its' internet connectivity capability I'll be able to update the scanner to handle new vehicle purchases and keep problems to a minimum while saving extra $$$! Prices have really dropped on these since my purchase and are even a Better Deal than ever!
