Craftsman 2-1/4 ton Floor Jack is Excellent April 29, 2011
Excellent floor jack for the price. I drive a Mustang which has a lower front end than some cars but this jack had no problems crawling underneath. It was easy to manuever once it was under the car and had no issues with creeping down once the car was jacked up (yes I had jack stands just below the jack height, safety first). The car was able to be lowered in a controlled manner (some jacks are prone to release quickly).
The only recommendation I would make to Craftsman is to make the handle a little longer to get more leverage on the jack. The car went up, but it could have been a little easier.
Overall, great jack and I would strongly recommend it.

LIFT MY SUV,SPORT COUPE & it Been a Few Years & It Still Works January 20, 2011
This floor jack has been good to me for 2-3 years now. I haven't once bleed it & probably should soon. I Love the storage case provided,so when I'm done or need to take it somewhere its easy to transport & store away. It not very heavy so that a plus & it does what its intended to. I use this floor jack in combination of the craftsman jack stands every time I make repairs & it really reliable .It does has a limit to height because it not a service jack but practical enough to raise the wheels off the car. Tips is to have a block of plywood if you want extra height. I recommended this floor jack for a passenger car & it does ok for to SUV'S but not great. Despite 4,5000 lb ratting I'm would buy the 2.5 or 3 Son as a step up since those has a lot more power. All in All I'm thinking of upgrading to a 2.5 or 3 ton soon likely a craftsman because of cost but it be nice if it was made in the USA. Hopefully OTC floor jacks will make it way to sears stores. Hope this helps

Lifts car with ease February 06, 2012

Pros:
Cost,sturdy,reliable,The Case is a huge benift,Price and ease of useI bought this jack yesterday and tried it on my car today. It lifted the car with ease. Since I only bought it to make it faster to change tires, it only lifted it high enough to raise the tire off the ground. The one small complaint I have is that you cant leave the plastic carrying handle on the jack and close the lid of the case. Its a problem because its hard to put the handle on so I dont want to be taking it off and on whenever I take it out of the case.

Cheap,Height limitationI got this very inexpensively on sale, took it home and out of the box, and it couldn't hardly get the front of my Honda CRV off the ground, it just didn't have enough lift height. I took it back and got a 3 ton model. This would only be okay for very small cars with low ground clearance.

Craftsman 2-1/4 Ton Floor Jack - Works ok November 30, 2011

CostThis jack does its job. It was pretty inexpensive so I was not expecting it to do wonders. Raising my car did prove to be somewhat difficult, it took a lot more effort than other jacks I'm used to but those cost a whole lot more. Once up it held steady with no problems and heigth was sufficient. To bring down the vehicle I had to turn the know on the side, even just releasing it a bit will make it come down a bit too fast. Overall for the price it's a great floor jack.
