I decided I wanted a floor jack and four way lug wrench to upgrade my wifes emergency preparedness kit for her car and bought this 2 1/4 ton floor jack to keep in her trunk.
Like many I am put off by the cheap "scissor" type jacks supplied by car makers. These are difficult to use and are dangerous on uneven ground because they will roll over. Even putting them away constitutes rertracting them slowly with applied weight and generally are just a pain.
A floor jack is much easier to place under your car because of their wheels and pump handle. Simply get close to the exact spot and move the jack back and forth until the correct spot is reached. Pump the handle up and down to raise, and later lower the vehicle. Most of the thought goes into matching a floor jack to your vehicles weight.
I have used our jack on the wife's Buick Park Avenue a couple times now and once was uneven ground. Wheels were blocked and emergency brake used to keep movement from happening. The 2 1/4 ton jack worked perfectly and with the 4 way lug wrench the change was quick with minimal effort.
This jack has a nice carry handle on top and weight is not too heavy. It sits in the trunk using little space and is hardly noticed until needed. Ours work great and we would recommend it for you as well.

Worked great for a couple of years but then I noticed that the aluminum was starting to bend to one side. As I lifted the car, the jack started to lift up off the ground on one side! And this is on a tiny little hatchback! When I tried to lower it back down, the saddle wouldn't go all the way down because it had bent too far to one side. I had to get my car's emergency jack out, just to get the floor jack out from under the car. Not good. I'll be getting the 4-ton low profile instead.

See all reviews for this productI've been using this floor jack for many years on many different vehicles. The only complaint is the plastic blow mold case finally broke apart and it lost a snap ring that was easily replaced by picking one up at the hardware store ? just be sure to inspect any jack before you use it. For the cost, it's a great jack that will work for years. It is very strong and I've done no other service to it. It's a purchase that I've never regretted and recommend to anyone. If you have a lifted Jeep or Truck, I?d recommended the 3-ton floor jack because of the limited height on this one.

Like all Craftsman tools, This Floor Jack has always gotten the job done. I've had for about 3 years now and it works great, Looks great and is very dependable. It is not bulky and can store anywhere. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Thank You Craftsman.
This is nice, and does it's job but the head is really small. Good price.
