Craftsman  3 pc. Deck-Out Screw and Bolt Removers

Got this set of removers to take out a rounded Phillips screw from a door nob. It worked just fine. Then used the same bit to take out another rounded screw but it would not grab. I tried using a different size bit to remove a broken bolt form a oilfield fishing tool. All it did was make the problem worse. Through them away after that.

Changed my mind about the threaded brass inserts in a brand-new rock maple guitar neck. Of course when I tried to remove them using the driver I installed them with, the brass just crumbled around the slots, and it looked like I'd have to drill them out. Got this set, and the medium remover spun them out smooth as silk. Wish I'd had these years ago!

These CRAFTSMAN screw removers are a MUST HAVE for every tool box! This is my second set of these as my first set was never returned by an ex co-worker! I've used it a couple of times, and it's worked for me. However, there's a limit to what it can do. It's a lot more convenient than single-ended screw removers, though. For those of you who don't like the price (I got it on sale for about half of the current price), it is the same as the Grabit tool. You can get a 4-piece Grabit set for about the same price if you look.

This is a must have item for anyone who has been frustrated by a stripped screw or nut head. It works efficiently and seems to hold up in the most dificult situations.

had a small bolt i had to emove out of my engine i drilled the hole perfect and then went to sears and bought a craftsman exetractor because i thought it would be the best and i wanted no falure. sure enough i get a good bite and turn it slowly as instructed not even a half turn and snap!!  great, thanks craftsman now i have carbide stuck when my very important bolt goes. remember when craftsman actually made quality product. I gues plane b is to sit there with a diamond bit for hours on end bore it out and rethread it. wow im in for a surgury appointment now!! worst product ever craftsman is the only one that hase failed me

These things work great. Between my truck, snowmobile, four wheeler and other toys, I almost always end up with a stripped out phillips head or bolt. I used to fight with the bolts to get them out however I could. Including using vice grips and getting busted knuckles when the vice grips slipped off the head. I used to dread working with stripped out screws and bolts because it was a pain in the @$$ and frustrating.

Since I bought these I don't even care if they strip out anymore. I keep extra screws and bolts around now. If one strips out all I have to do is grab the right size bit and I'll have it out in less then 5 minutes. I should have bought a set of these a long time ago, would have saved me alot of headaches over the years. Definitely a nice tool to have around when you need it. They worked great everytime I used them. I keep a set in the tool box and a set in my truck.

Knowing that craftsman is the only quality american made tool company left i bought this item to remove a bolt from my outboard engine that had become stripped. After following the instuctions and began drilling the drill part snaped. The idea is good but it needs to seriously be rethought.
