Craftsman Professional 36" Wide Floor Cabinet - Locker Style - Platinum

This is my fourth cabinet it is strong and looks beautiful. February 02, 2012

I hope Sears never stops selling these fine cabinets. All of the styles are strong, well built and function very well in our Garage. I recommend them to everyone.

came damaged but all ready at shop would not send replacement peice said i had to return whole cabanit, but cant do to transportation issues

The Floor Cabinet was not fully assembled November 10, 2011

I thought this cabinet came fully assembled but no, you have to add the door catches and other bolts and nuts. Attaching the catches was very tricky - you will need a 7/16" nut driver (a socket is to thick for the very confined space).

Also, some of the carriage bolts were not held from turning by the square holes they were fitted in.

You are provided with eight small plastic tubes, slit lengthwise, to fit in the door to quieten the lock bars. These were impossible to fit easily - I gave up and removed the bars as I do not need to lock the cabinet.

The lower shelf on the left was not level and I had to drill a hole to reposition the support bolt on the left.

Overall though, I do like the cabinet - it offers good storage with the door shelves.

I cannot recommend the Craftsman Professional 36" Wide Cabinet August 30, 2011

I ordered the cabinet online and picked it up at our local Sears store. The person in the pick-up area was very helpful and loaded the cabinet for me, since it was quite heavy. I inspected the box before I left the area to make sure there was no damage to the box, which might indicate there was damage to the cabinet itself. From what I could see, everything was in good order. When I returned home, I opened the box to inspect the cabinet. The first thing I saw was that the door on the left hand side was out of the top hole of the cabinet. I took the cabinet completely out of the box and saw that the bottom left side of the cabinet had damage and that the upright support in the middle of the cabinet was also bent. I layed the cabinet on its back and tried to straighten the bent metal with a block of wood and hammer. I then tried to assemble the cabinet per the instructions. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep the left door from coming out of the top and bottom holes. Since there was no visable damage to the outside of the box when I picked up the cabinet and I did not drop the box when I brought it home, I can only surmise that the cabinet was damaged prior to it being boxed and shipped. Special Note: I do not believe the doors on this cabinet are safe. There is only a small piece of metal that holds the doors at the bottom of the cabinet and if the doors come out of those holes, the doors could fall and injure a person, particularily small children. The doors are made to hold cans and other items, which only add weight to the doors and makes it even more dangerous if they should come off. We returned the cabinet to Sears and received a full refund.
