A great addition to the Dremel family
I have owned several Dremel rotary tools over the years, and I have tried a few different manufacturers, but have always come back to Dremel.
The 10.8v cordless dremel rotary tool is a very high-quality and reliable tool. I has more power than most people need, and can match almost all corded tools for performance. The new Lithium-ion batteries really do last, and they charge quickly and can hold that charge when not in use many times longer than NiCd batteries of the past.
This tool features a smart "fuel meter" that tells you how much charge your battery has left. Also, instead of loosing power with the charge, when the battery gets too low on juice, the tool simply shuts off.
I build custom computers for a living, and many customers request custom built or modded cases. I use this Dremel almost daily both at work and at home, and have never had a problem with it. The battery holds a charge just the same as when it was brand new, and the tool works like it's never been used after literally hours of use. The many different available attachments make it very easy to do nearly any project. I also picked up the 2 year in store replacement from Sears, which was only $10 for peace of mind.

Got this dremel when my corded dremel broke down after 6 yrs of everyday use. This cordless one would be great for taking care of little tasks around the house. But it is Terrible for serious work!!! If you plan on using this dremel for cutting metal frequently, beware, it will not get the job done!!! has a safety feature that turns it off for overloading the motor to save amperage that becomes very annoying when cutting through metals even as soft as 0.050" aluminum. I was very displeased with the performance for my application, tho, if you plan on using it for general around the house tasks it'll perform well

Great for the average project!
Quality of the Dremel seems great. Cordless function is nice. Easy to carry and store. Lots of accessories come with the Dremel straight out of box. Everything you really need for basic projects. Overall, a great product! I only took away a star because it would have been nice to see a section of the case with a closeable container. Otherwise, great!

One of my favorite tools in my arsenal. So many different applications, no cords to get in the way, and outstanding battery life! Quick charge time as well! I would recommend getting a second battery or a corded version for some bigger jobs though.

Dremel 10.8 v rotary tool is handy and versatile!
We have this dremel and have found it useful in lots of situations. We have used it for everything from cutting off nail heads to etching names (though it takes a real steady hand & I haven't mastered that!). I would recomend a dremel to a friend, and would plan to buy another if anything ever happened to this one!

I bought one of these at a local brick & mortar store for a project I'm working on. I am impressed with the power of the device and it is a really neat tool, but unfortunatley I've already had to return two of them for a defective speed control. While using it, the first one all of a sudden just jumped up to full speed and stayed there regardless of where the speed control was set. In other words, it was no longer variable. The second one did the same thing. Since I saw replacement brushes available for their tools (and therefore they must consider it somewhat user serviceable) I decided to open it up and see what it looked like inside. One of the transistors on the circuit board had gotten warm enough to melt the solder and shorted out two of the pins on the transistor. I'm on my third one now (just returned them at the store) and I first bought one about 2-1/2 weeks ago. Great tool but Dremel needs to work on their quality control.

Great tool for artists.
As an artist, being able to cut fine detail is quite important. The 10.8 V Cordless Dremel is great for that because I can work wherever I need to without having to find an outlet. While I do not work much with metal, using it for plaster, wood, and things such as hydrostone.. it is great! I do have a heavy duty corded Dremel if I need it, but this one gets the job done for most of what I need.
I would recommend this product to a friend.
