Big toolbox for portable use December 22, 2010
I've had this toolbox for over 20 years as a mechanics box that can be lifted for portable use. Mine came with a tray and would recommend adding a tray to the top for sockets. The design, construction and size allow it's portability with about 50 lbs of tools - my maximum for comfortable hauling to the car or truck.Twin hasps, full piano hing and secure top has brought this toolbox on-site for truck, snowmobile and boat repair without loosing tools or damaging the box. After 20 plus years - it still works like a new one. It's small and won't fit 3/4" socket tools but than you probably need another toolbox!

Tool Chest was as expected, but Bridal Gift Registry page SUCKS! October 15, 2010
I recently purchased a tool chest that was listed on a friend's bridal gift registry.
I made the order on-line (from the bridal registry link); but because the transaction was separate from the bridal registry, it did not acknowledge my purchase on the bridal registry until three days later.
In the meantime, someone else went to a local Sears store and purchased the tool chest for the happy couple and entered it in the registry.
Long story short: now the happy couple is going to get TWO tool chests, and will have to go through the hassle of returning one of them to the store.

I put felt in to line drawersI bought a Craftsman 3 drawer ball bearing chest model #31017 to go with my 3 drawer BB Roll away cabinet model#31016. I really like it. I was looking for inexpensive storage units. Some of those plastic Rubbermaid 3 drawer chests cost $70.00. At **************, the $300.00 unit did not have ball bearings in the drawers, and the drawers were just not deep enough for what I needed. This really turned out nice for the tools that I wanted to put in it. I still have some room, and I have not bought the middle section yet. I had some pieces of felt, that I cut and put into the drawers to prevent them from getting scratched. One day I might by the drawer liner. Craftsman makes many sizes of toolboxes and chests, and this one is just right for my needs.

Sturdy construction,Great for the $$$$$,All metalI needed a small toolbox to keep my most frequently used tools and this box was perfect. I really wanted a box with all metal construction and a box from a reputable brand, like Craftsman. This fit the bill perfectly. The exterior is a nice thick gauge material and the overall feel is not "cheap". My only complaint would be the grip trim pieces for the drawers have a bit of an edge to them on the hidden side that just doesn't feel good. Other than that, I would highly recommend this box.
